Question of the Week
Q: What happens when a player gets traded from a free-to-play league to a pay-to-play league?
A: When getting traded from a free-to-play program to a pay-to-play program, the biggest thing that will impact you is cost. The cost you have to start thinking about will depend on a few factors, mainly the program you're getting traded to & the time of the year at which you get traded there. If you get traded late into the season, then most teams will usually let you play out the year for free; it's worth mentioning that you'll usually have to pay the league fee (usually around 1K) & billet fees (usually 350-500$ a month). If you get traded early in the season, then expect to pay a team fee on top of the other fees. The amount you'll have to pay depends on how much the team usually charges, how valuable you are to them, and how much wiggle room they have to offer discounts. Usually, most players playing in free-to-play leagues are considered quite valuable to pay-to-play programs, so those pay-to-play programs are usually open to offering those players a discount.
