Excitement and Anticipation
Aug 01, 2023 5:06 pm
Hello ,
Considering a major life change like moving from New Mexico to South Carolina to be closer to my children and grandchildren can evoke a mix of emotions, which is completely normal.
First, there's excitement. The thought of being closer to my loved ones and spending more time with them can be incredibly thrilling. I look forward to creating new memories, participating in family activities, and being a more active part of my children's and grandchildren's lives.
Alongside excitement comes anticipation. Moving to a new place brings a sense of curiosity about what my life will be like in South Carolina. I wonder about the local community, places to explore, and the lifestyle I will have there. This sense of anticipation can be both exhilarating and nerve-wracking as I step into the unknown.
On the flip side, leaving my current home in New Mexico may trigger feelings of nostalgia. I find myself reminiscing about the memories I made here, the friends I've made, and the experiences I've had. It's natural to feel a bit sentimental about leaving a place I've known for a long time and that holds significant personal history.
With the excitement and nostalgia, there may also be some anxiousness. Moving can bring about worries and concerns about the logistics of the move, leaving behind familiar surroundings, or adjusting to a new environment. It's understandable to feel a bit anxious about the changes ahead, especially when relocating to a different state.
Yet, the prospect of being closer to family can bring genuine happiness and joy.
Being surrounded by loved ones can enhance my emotional well-being and overall life satisfaction. This feeling of happiness is a strong driving force behind my decision to make the move and start a new chapter of my life.

This chapter and episode promises to be a mix of teenage escapades, encounters with diverse characters, and the profound impact of empathy in unexpected situations.
For those new to our podcast, Shelley Carney and Toby Younis are the brilliant minds behind "A Gypsy's Kiss," weaving tales that captivate our imagination and take us on extraordinary journeys through the eyes of intriguing characters.
The Uncomfortable Encounter
An uncomfortable encounter can leave one feeling vulnerable, anxious, and uncertain.
Whether it's a confrontation with a stranger, a difficult conversation with a loved one, or facing a challenging situation, the emotions that arise can be overwhelming.
In such moments, it's essential to acknowledge and validate these feelings, recognizing that discomfort is a natural part of life.
Taking a deep breath and grounding oneself in the present moment can provide a sense of calm and clarity.
Embracing empathy, both for oneself and others involved in the encounter, can foster understanding and open the door to meaningful communication.
Instead of avoiding or suppressing these feelings, it is best to confront them head-on with honesty and courage.
By approaching the situation with an open mind and a willingness to learn and grow, uncomfortable encounters can be transformed into opportunities for personal growth, enhanced relationships, and a deeper understanding of oneself and the world around us.
