Shelley is rebranding her podcast to Shelley Carney in The Land of Enchantment to share stories about our day trips and the insights she gains from our travels. The first new episode drops Wednesday at 4 pm MST on all podcasting sites and her YouTube channel.

Hello ,

It is my turn to write the newsletter this week, so I get to wish Toby a very happy 74th birthday today!

We had a wonderful weekend, starting with a second visit to Ghost Ranch to see the museums. It was a gorgeous day, and we snapped many great photos to share with you.

On Saturday, we sorted through my husband Kevin's extensive coin collection. Now that he is retired, he is ready to sell it off. Check below for more information on that.

Today, Toby and I will check in at some coin and jewelry stores about buying and selling coins. Then we have a coaching session with a client who wants to learn more about YouTube and how to build an online course for her community. After that, we will celebrate Toby's birthday with dinner out, champagne, and a German chocolate cake.

How do you celebrate your birthday?

New Mexico Day Trips and Helpful Life Tips

by Shelley Carney

“We’ve seen pretty much everything: the museums, the library, and the gift shop. What now?”

“Let’s get a cup of coffee and set up a time-lapse video.”

I watch as Toby sets up the DJI Pocket 2 camera to capture the small movements of the breeze in the winter grasses and stratus clouds.

Sitting on the tailgate of Toby’s Nissan Frontier truck, I sip my coffee and gaze at the beauty of the cool January colors splashed across the land and sky and think of the people who have been here before me.

Georgia O’Keeffe lived here, and she didn’t want to share the Ghost Ranch land with anyone else, preferring to experience nature’s beauty alone.

But she couldn’t help sharing it in her paintings.

I long ago came to the conclusion that even if I could put down accurately the thing I saw and enjoyed, it would not give the observer the kind of feeling it gave me. I had to create an equivalent for what I felt about what I was looking at-not copy it. ~Georgia O’Keeffe

Ghost Ranch - 122,000 Acres of Stories and Landscape Art

Join Shelley and Toby as they explore Ghost Ranch, an iconic northern New Mexico location that covers 122,000 acres of history, mysteries, stories, amazing personalities, museums, libraries, movies, and enough pre-historic landscape to cause world-renowned artist, Georgia O'Keeffe to return again and again. This story is so big it took two episodes to cover it!

Attention Coin Collectors!

There once was a man named Paul Carney. He was a Water Master for the Salt River Project in Phoenix, Arizona and he loved collecting coins, both foreign and US. Paul had three sons: Kevin, Brian, and Scott. He collected proof sets and books of coins for each son and always bought three or more of everything when he could.

The sons enjoyed spending time with their dad, going through the coins together.

When Paul passed away in 1998, his oldest son, Kevin, ended up with eight large boxes of coins, all in disarray. Kevin was too sad to think about the coins and his dad, so he put the boxes away until he had more time to deal with them.

It is now many years later, and Kevin has retired. Although he has the time to work his way through the coins, he doesn't have the energy. He uses all his strength these days to fight cancer.

So his loving wife, Shelley, and her partner Toby have come to the rescue.

Shelley has sorted through the stacks of coins and Toby has agreed to take photos and post them for sale on eBay.

There are many medical bills to pay and Kevin's failing 18-year-old truck needs to be replaced with more reliable transportation to get him to his many doctor's appointments.

We hope to raise enough money from the sale of these coins to help with those expenses.

You can find the first of the coins available for sale on eBay: 90% Silver Benjamin Franklin Half Dollar 1948-1963 Complete in Whitman Album. https://www.ebay.com/itm/234862826551

If you know anybody with an interest in coin collecting, please let them know about Kevin's collection. Thank you!
