Hello ,

It's been quite an eventful week for us, filled with both joyful and bittersweet moments. As we navigate the trade-offs and challenges that life presents, we want to share our recent experiences and the themes we've been exploring in our videos.

Last week, we explored sportsmanship and its significance in various aspects of life. A spirit of fair play can elevate our relationships and experiences. If you haven't had a chance to watch it, we highly recommend checking out The Value of Good Sportsmanship | A Gypsy's Kiss Chapter 6 | Our Story Your Story. You can watch the video or listen to the podcast episode.

Meanwhile, in our personal lives, we find ourselves in different but equally transformative situations.

Shelley, amidst her grief, has been facing the emotionally challenging task of packing away her late husband Kevin's belongings. It's a journey filled with nostalgia and introspection. She has been reflecting on the fine line between cherishing memories and succumbing to the weight of loss.

Toby has embarked on a journey across the seas. He's been in Spain, attending his daughter's wedding—a joyous occasion that brings together family and friends to celebrate love and new beginnings.

We invite you to join us this week as we explore the intersection of travel, personal growth, and embracing change.

Thriving Through Transition: How Good Sportsmanship, Mentorship, and a Growth Mindset Shape Us

by Shelley Carney

Good sportsmanship is more than a set of rules or guidelines; it reflects an individual's character and values. Whether it is in the context of sports, school, or any other area of life, good sportsmanship sets the foundation for healthy competition, respect, and fair play. It encompasses qualities like integrity, humility, and kindness.

Poor sportsmanship can have detrimental effects on an individual's character and mental health. It fosters a culture of negativity, resentment, and hostility.

Good sportsmanship encourages individuals to uphold the highest ethical standards and promotes positive interactions among teammates, opponents, and spectators.

Our podcast episode provides inspiring examples of good sportsmanship.

Toby's reminiscences about playing baseball highlight the importance of enjoying the sport and embracing the camaraderie it brings.

His advice resonates with the idea that true victory lies not only in winning but also in building relationships and fostering a sense of unity within a team.

"I think it's more difficult to live without good sportsmanship. Whether you're a jock or not, apply it to life. You're going to win some, you're going to lose some. Your behavior should be the same in each case." — Toby Younis
