Seize the Day and Make Your Dreams a Reality!

Hello ,

Life is short, and every day is a precious opportunity to chase after our dreams, live life to the fullest, and create new stories.

It's time to seize the day and take advantage of this beautiful weather!

In the hustle and bustle of life, it's easy to lose sight of our dreams and get caught up in the mundane. As we glide into our retirement years, time slips away so quickly between all the doctor’s appointments, home and car maintenance, keeping up with family and friends, and working on bills or cleaning.

I encourage you to pause, reflect, and take action. Set aside time to evaluate your goals, create a plan, and take that first courageous step toward your dreams.

Your future self will thank you for it.

Conquering the Fear of Abandonment: Understanding, Embracing, and Overcoming

by Shelley Carney

Don’t Leave Me!

When I was young, 3 or 4 years old, my mom worked the graveyard shift at Motorola and my dad worked in construction during the day. My brother, my parents, and I met up at breakfast. I remember the radio playing Reach Out I'll Be There by The Four Tops and other popular songs of the 60s.

Then my dad would go to work, my brother to school, and my mom would sleep on the couch while I watched TV and played with my dolls.

There were one or two days when schedules didn’t work out and we had to go to daycare for a few hours. But mostly our parents were always there.

One rainy day in March, when I was in elementary school, my parents drove from Arizona to California for about 3 weeks because there was a good-paying project for my dad there.

My teenage cousin came to stay with my brother and me, but I was too young to understand why my parents left and how long they would be gone.

I felt abandoned.

Are there times in your life when you felt abandoned, too?

"It's not abandonment. It's the end of a chapter or a section in your life, and it's not going to kill you, and you can move on with whatever you need to do."

New Mexico History Museum and More in Santa Fe

Shelley had family visiting, so we took them to the New Mexico History Museum in Santa Fe. The museum was established to showcase the rich history and diverse cultural heritage of New Mexico. It's part of a larger cultural complex that includes the Palace of the Governors, the oldest continuously occupied public building in the United States. The museum features a variety of exhibits that explore the history of New Mexico from pre-historic (1,000 BCE) times to the present day.

4 pm MST, Wednesday, May 24, 2023. Garage Prospecting with Shelley Carney and Toby Younis. Video Upload.

Prospecting Las Huertas Creek with a Gold Rush Nugget Bucket

After seeing all the YouTube videos about it, we bought a Gold Rush Nugget Bucket. The nearest location we could test it was Las Huertas Creek in the Cibola National Forest in the Northern part of the Sandia Mountains. We pulled three (Nugget Bucket) "bowls" of concentrates from the creek and let them dry out.

While I was shaking the plastic container to help the drying process, I found a small green gem and lots of black sand! Join us to see if we find any gold.

4 pm MST, Thursday, May 25, 2023. Our Story Your Story with Shelley Carney and Toby Younis. Premier.
