Toby is visiting family and Shelley is busier than ever! Be sure to visit Shelley on her live shows this Thursday to cheer her on during Toby's absence.

Hello ,

We wanted to share this informative excerpt from Shelley's LinkedIn article with you...

What Makes a Good Content Creator?

I slide out of bed early Thursday morning and pull on comfortable clothes for my daily walk. Twisting my hair into a ponytail and pulling it through the back of my cap, then buckling on my fanny pack and popping on my wireless headset, I search on my phone for a podcast to educate me for the next hour.

I choose The Online Marketing Made Easy podcast with Amy Porterfield #484: Hindsight is 20/20: 3 Things I Wish I Did When I First Started Out. Amy is detailing the top three things she should have started earlier in her career that would have made the most significant difference for her business.

Her number one recommendation? Consistent content production and distribution.

I do a little dance and pump my fist when I hear that.

That means if I do nothing else but create and distribute content every week, I'm moving forward with my business.

It's validating to hear this perspective from a successful online entrepreneur. Amy Porterfield's advice for anyone starting an online business is to publish a weekly podcast episode and a newsletter and to do it consistently.

This is great advice, and it sets the bare minimum bar for us as content entrepreneurs.

Vlogging with Toby

We have added travel vlogging to our News and Views channel and Toby is getting into boating on a budget. He purchased a Sea Eagle FishSkiff 16 and a Tohatsu 5HP outboard motor.

Last week we visited Santa Fe, Abiquiu, Taos, and Velarde, New Mexico, and shared our adventures with our audience.

It may seem crazy to add on the time and effort it takes to travel, shoot and edit drone and video footage to our already busy schedule. But it also adds to our enjoyment and memories.

We hope it adds to your enjoyment, too! Subscribe and click the bell to receive notifications when we go live or upload a new video.

Recession-Proof Your Business with Multiple Revenue Streams

Having only one revenue stream means taking a chance that it will never fail. When the economy experiences changes that affect your business, income can quickly dry up. If you rely solely on a few steady clients for all your income, what happens if they suddenly leave you?

That’s why we recommend creating multiple, and diverse revenue streams to support your business.

In this episode, we’ll explore passive and active revenue streams, and how to open up new pathways to earning revenue.

Marketing Therapy for the Entrepreneur

John Follis started his career on Madison Avenue working for top agencies on major brands. He co-founded his own NYC agency in the 1990s.

In the early 2000s, he came across many small business owners and entrepreneurs who didn't want (or couldn't afford) an agency but were all desperately needing marketing help. Most were confused and overwhelmed by the shifting digital landscape.

In 2004, he changed to an online consulting model branded as "Follis Marketing Therapy" helping business owners and entrepreneurs around the US with their marketing, branding, creatives, and video.

News for the Content Entrepreneur

Why Content Velocity Matters in SEO (Especially for New Websites)

By Timothy Carter, SEO.co

Content velocity is especially important for new websites.

When you’re just starting out, you don’t have the sort of SEO “bedrock” that most websites have naturally built up over time.

This means you have less to stand on. And the fastest way to make your website known (both by the search engines and by human users) is to quickly create quality content.
