Money Framework for Content Creators

How can we transition from content creators to entrepreneurs who are actually making money?

We asked this question when we interviewed Heather Zeitzwolfe, Profit Advisor for Digital Media Creators and Producers on our livecast, Messages and Methods.

Heather Zeitzwolfe: The steps are to put in place a plan and have some strategy behind what they want to do with this content creation.

Is it leading towards something?

We're supposed to have intention around what we're doing with marketing.

It's not like we put things out there and just hope that we get likes and follows.

It needs to lead towards some call to action where you're making money.

So what happens?

People follow their passion, and they start doing things.

They don't understand what it is they're going to be making money from.

Maybe they think I'll just do Patreon or Buy me a coffee, or I'll become an affiliate.

There are ideas floating out there, and yes, they can generate income. But unless you have a strategy in place of how this is all going to work together, it's going to be random things happening.

If you're putting all of your attention into this randomness, it's probably not going to pan out.

Every Podcaster Should Know These 8 Marketing Tips To Grow Their Audiences

by Chris Penn | Sep 26, 2022

Your podcast is a product. You have to market it like any other product or service. Develop a marketing plan for it, and market it hard if you want it to succeed.

I started my first podcast in 2005, the Financial Aid Podcast. It ran every weekday from 2005 to 2010. My second podcast, Marketing Over Coffee, which I co-host with John Wall, started in 2007 and is still going. My third podcast, In-Ear Insights, started in 2018.

Let’s take a walk down memory lane and see what worked in the old days and see what still sticks.

Every podcast needs this first: Your podcast has to be worth consuming. Ask yourself: If you didn’t make your show, would you willingly tune into it? Would you subscribe if it weren’t your show?

(Great article and advice. Read the rest of the article here.)

Or, you can Schedule a Free Consultation with us to discuss your plans about becoming a podcaster.
