Adapting Agatha Christie

Hello, My Friends!
I hope you are settling into a cozy holiday season (unless you're below the equator, in which case, get out the swim trunks!)
First, a little business. If you are looking for something to read, I'm participating in a group promo. 40 books about amateur detectives, all for free on your favorite retail sites! No strings attached. Just a ton of books to jam onto your ereader with abandon to enjoy on a snowy day. Or heat soaked day. Or foggy day. Excellent for rainy days. You get the picture. So, just click on the picture!
But now to Agatha Christie!
So, as some of you may or may not know, I'm a playwright in my other life (under the name Kate Danley) and in just two short weeks, my adaptation of Agatha Christie's The Murder on the Links is coming to Theatre in the Round Players in Minneapolis.
They produced my adaptation of The Mysterious Affair at Styles, her first book and the book that introduced the world to Hercule Poirot.
It received a Critics' Pick by the Star Tribune, named a "Highlight of 2022" by one of the city's big theatre critics, and received sixteen BroadwayWorld nominations. (Don't fret if you missed it! It will be coming to the Seattle area in May 2026 at Edmonds Driftwood Players.)
The Murder on the Links is the next book in the series, and I couldn't be more thrilled to bring it to life with many from our original team.
I believe strongly in maintaining Christie's voice in my adaptations, and my plays are a love letter to her work. If you adore her books, this will feel like a warm hug. A warm, murdery hug.
If you live in the Minneapolis / Saint Paul region, I would love to see you there! (I'll be at all the shows December 5 - 7, and leading a talkback after the December 7 show.)
And if you are a theatre aficionado interested in bringing Agatha Christie to your stage, you can find information about The Mysterious Affair at Styles and The Murder on the Links, and download review copies of my scripts on the New Play Exchange.
Until next time, stay mysterious, my friends!
