For you, before the holiday madness begins

Hello!
Our email boxes are about to be inundated with promos and specials to promulgate our consumer culture. Before all that happens, here are a few quick thought provoking items and bites of fun.
- With Thanksgiving coming up, this old article from Peter Singer is worth a read, consideration, and discussion.
- If you need a new short series to watch over the holiday break, check out The Queen's Gambit on Netflix. It is really well done and quite refreshing amidst this era of anti-intellectualism.
- A study from John Hopkins Medicine shows that two doses of the magic mushroom chemical, psilocybin, relieves major depression symptoms. This could be huge for many people. I wonder if it will further decriminalization beyond the state of Oregon, Oakland, Santa Cruz, and Ann Arbor.
- Pinterest paid $89 million to get out of building a new headquarters in San Francisco.
- Love this! You can do anything that you want.
Quick question. Do you have any fun holiday-time traditions? Years ago I started buying the current year Beaujolais nouveau to try on Thanksgiving. Although I'll be having a solo celebration, I still grabbed some to sample. Hopefully the grapes from 2020 won't be as sour as so much of this year has been for many of us.
Hope you're well and until next time,
Adam
