When did August get here?

Hello. Happy Friday and weekend!!
It's hard to believe that we are three-fourths the way through August already. This summer has flown by for me. I think the monotony of not being able to plan any real getaways has helped this feel a little like Groundhog Day (or Palm Springs). Have you seen Palm Springs on Hulu yet? It's a fun movie!

In the past year or so I heard a couple of interviews with Michael Pollan about his book How to Change Your Mind. It sounded interesting so I grabbed a kindle copy in May and that's about all the further I got with it. It sat there on my kindle with the intention of getting read. In fact it's still sitting there waiting to be illuminated, also known as, I haven't made the time to start it.
A friend recently read it and suggested I check it out. Because I seem to find time to listen to things before I make time to sit down to read, I grabbed the audiobook version from the library. This week I've gotten half way through it. Pollan covers a couple of mind altering solutions for some all too common problems people experience.
As I was listening to this book I hit pause to find a couple of interviews with Paul Stamets. (I have this quality that when I learn about something that interests me I tend to take a deep dive.) Stamets is mentioned early on in the book and has a fascinating knowledge of mycelium and mushrooms. That took me down a rabbit hole of finding Joe Rogan talking about Santa Claus and psychedelic mushrooms. Oh my!
Back to the book. Overall I'm finding the information extremely interesting. The studies people are doing now could be changing the face of medicine (and suffering) as we know it. If you have a reading list, put this on there. If you don't have a reading list, start one! :)

That's all I have at the moment. If you are finding any of this stuff interesting, please let me know. Also it would be super awesome if you shares it with a friend or two. So far this has been a fun little experiment. I'm not sure where it's headed but I love that your joining me on the journey.
Until next time,
Adam
Oh and as far as reading lists go, what's one of your favorite books?
