Social media lessons no one taught you

I know what your normal social media influencer will tell you on this topic but if you have been reading from me, I will say differently.
While so individuals have made it big with influence and income, some have become victims of the same post, share and comment buttons.
When I was in university as an undergraduate student and I had to trek through some hostels, the exotic aroma that comes from the kitchens sometimes, speaks volumes.
No matter how silent they are, I understand the message.
You can tell without argument how delicious the meal is.
Even if the food may be salty, you have concluded simply by the aroma.
LOL.
On the other side, you can pass through another environment and feel offended by the aroma of the meal prepared and know this meal cannot be sweet.
Yet, the person preparing the meal might get so excited about how sweet the food is.
The aroma of your posts, pictures and presence offer a perception to the people who see them.
Come to think of a post with the picture of a lady who reveals her cleavage and a narration "you can do it, go for it", you are confused and begin to ask "do what".
A young man dresses so well in a suit and narrates in a post "dress anyhow, it does not matter". You become confused also.
Every human is made to be a judge based on the perception you create and will respond the same.
Before you hit the post button, think of who you choose to attract to yourself.
It determines the kind of transaction people want to have with you.
, before you press the post button on your social media handle, always ask:
- What do I want to achieve with this post?
- Who am I writing to?
- Will this post still matter 10 years from now?
- What perception do I want people to have of me?
- Am I convinced and sure about what I am about to share?
Your answers to these five questions will help you position correctly, create opportunities and leave positive impressions on the hearts of men.
Remember: Social media does not care about your future or the legacy you want to leave behind. It never forgets and the trolls will be after you.
Thanks for attending my keynote speech on social media ethics for the 21st century.
