You may have tried to refresh you inbox a number of times to find out if my mail came in last week.

It is likely you were even expecting some days after because I was busy or forgot.

I have to make this quick explanation as I know how much these letters get to help and support your growth.

For about 4 days, I was ill and had to receive treatment for malaria.

I didn't recognize how serious it was until last Sunday.

I had to shut down off some activities except visiting my students in Lagos who were on their internship.

It's glad to be up, back and better.

It is possible to be wondering why some people with not so many competencies get to access lots of opportunities than others.

Some do not even have the family advantage but end up becoming so great in life.

Here is my counsel for you - no matter how good you are, don't joke with recommendations.

A good one can change your story forever while a bad one can take you 10 steps backward.

I know the story of a young man who was eagerly praying and anticipating a career opportunity in an industry.

He prayed so much with expectations of a wonder.

He sent applications to different places but all to no avail because of some powerplay.

One morning, he got a call from a senior person he met on campus who asked if he was interested in an opportunity relating to that industry.

I guess you know his answer.

Not up to two years after getting that offer, another senior personality called him if he was interested in a senior role in that same industry.

How?

He was recommended.

What got the breakthrough for this young man?

Prayers, skills, competence, connection?

All with recommendation.

Millions of people keep missing privileges and answers to their prayers because they do not have people to speak for and about them.

Be the kind of person who others are confident without reservation to speak for when an opportunity is open.

Open doors in your absence because of how valuable you have been to people and your proof of character.

Not everyone is limited. Some are rising by the day.

You should choose and position for which one you desire.
