The series on multitalented mistakes I started with you some days ago have been so transforming I guess.

Today, I will be sharing the fourth mistake you should not make for being multitalented - becoming distracted because of criticisms.

Let me share a story of a young man I choose to call Charles I heard somewhere.

There was a very high mountain that many have tried to climb over time but for certain reasons have not happened.

Instead of giving it a trial, they gave up and had a belief that no one could.

Then, Charles took up the challenge and started climbing that mountain.

As he was climbing to that mountain, people started making mockery at him, tried to talk him to scorn and discourage him.

He kept on going, they continued their sarcasm and he continued his climbing.

Eventually, he got to the top of that mountain and the people who tried to mock him applauded him for his achievement.

Guess what?

They never knew all along during their criticism and mockery, he did not hear any of the things they said because he was deaf.

For real?

That's exactly how you should deal with the vision you have for your talents.

Lots of people will try to talk you down, criticize you and give you a sarcastic look to discourage you from moving on.

Can you carry on like you did not hear and carry on to your mountain top?

Eventually, the same people who try to talk you down will celebrate you when you have results.

Every great talent you celebrate was once criticized.

They only arrived at the point you love to recognize with because of their extreme level of focus.

If you know this, the results of your talents will be enviable.
