Hello peeps!
Shana Tova! Happy Jewish New Year! Last week we celebrated Rosh Hashana, the start of the new year on the Jewish calendar. We gathered with family, dipped apples in honey, and marked another year since the creation of the world.

For me, the Jewish holidays have always carried a mix of sweetness and challenge. I don’t talk about this often, but you’re here because you enjoy my writing (I hope), so I’ll share a little. My dad wasn’t a particularly kind figure, yet he was strictly orthodox. An interesting and complicated combination. Because of that, every Jewish holiday carries memories that can feel heavy and bittersweet.
It’s tough, because being Jewish is such a core part of who I am. Not just religion, but culture, ethnicity, and identity. I often feel like there are two sides of me in quiet conflict. I’m working on it with therapy and, most importantly, kindness. I’m learning to be less judgmental and to accept that I may feel differently about certain traditions than others do. I didn’t choose my past, and while it shapes me, I can still heal and grow.
I’m curious: are there parts of your own identity you wrestle with? If so, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
🎬 Demon Slayer – Infinity Castle
This is one of the rare times I’ll use the word masterpiece. That said, it’s not for everyone. You have to be an anime fan, or at least open to becoming one. If you are and haven’t started Demon Slayer, do yourself a favor: start from season one, catch up, and then watch this movie. It’s the first in a trilogy that will wrap up the anime. Trust me, it's worth it.
One common critique is that there are too many flashbacks. But honestly, what else would you expect? From season one, Demon Slayer has relied on flashbacks to reveal the history of its characters. Sometimes it can feel a bit much, but I think it deepens the villains and makes their choices feel human. When a story makes me care about someone I once saw only as an enemy, that’s powerful.
And beyond the storytelling, the animation is breathtaking. Every frame looks like a painting. You could pause at random moments and get pure art. It’s the most stunning animation I’ve seen.
For me, this is a 10 out of 10. Maybe I’m biased as an anime nerd, but it had me on the edge of my seat and completely awestruck.
