In my last email, I asked if you wanted to know kung ANONG skill would make working from home really convenient, and as always I’m grateful for replies. 

I’ll actually go farther by saying na itong skill na to, hindi lang convenient to work from home, pwede ka talaga mag work from anywhere.

Although may konti pa sa Work Fun Home Nation who are not yet working from home.. 

a large portion of you are already doing it, and some of you even expected this answer. 

Which is why I won’t make you guys wait na. 

It’s writing emails for a living, or more specifically.. email marketing,  

Yup, that’s it, tapos na email for today hehe.

TLDR: Email Changed my Life, and I hope it will change yours too.

Allow me to share with you why I think learning email marketing is a skill that is one of the best things you can learn as a freelancer, a business owner, and a brand. 

This takes me back 10 years when I was a full-time filmmaker (sheesh).. when I co-founded a Videography School with my friend EJ, and back then we were totally in over our heads.

I mean sure we were both good filmmakers, and we knew how to get high-ticket government and corporate video clients. 

We also knew we could teach. 

We were damn good at it. 

Pero sa business and admin side of things? 

Total banoobies. (bano na newbie hehehe - yes we all start there)

Since ako yung mas-techy sa amin, I had to learn how to build or work on - -

ALL. OF. THE. THINGS.

Website. Copy. Email Marketing. FB Ads. Coffee Brewing. Janitorial Services, Driver. you name it..

I probably sucked at it.

Pero eventually if you're pig-headed enough, you actually get better.

And you know what, one of the skills that SAVED MY ASS AND BUSINESS through several career pivots ( videographer > tech startup founder > videography school co-founder > online freelancer) and even through massive changes in my offer.. 

was LEARNING TO WRITE EMAILS. 

And now having done it on our video school and my other lists with awesome results, I can truly say with full confidence that this skill CAN follow you wherever you go, kahit nga di ka na freelancer, and CAN change your life. 

Here’s what I mean: 

Speaking as a video guy who ran live workshops and classes, AND organized a small school behind it, we really had to figure the school thing out.

Or the business would not survive.

Syempre we needed new students lagi to keep the school going.

We created our own offers. 

We ran our own traffic to our landing pages. 

Minsan we even helped to generate traffic for our Brand partners who hired us to teach at their events.

Syempre di naman sila bibili agad ng expensive course when they saw our FB ads, it’s not an impulse buy to get our courses. 

Most of them were between 6k to 8k pesos.

And our flagship course was 18,000 pesos. 

Pero here’s how writing emails helped us show up to our prospects. 

And make money.

We were able to nurture them and make them badly need our lessons. 

As in yan talaga sinabi ng isang student namin.

For those people saying that they badly need this, wouldn’t you think that they would enroll in our courses? 

They would convert, eventually.

Email marketing kept me sane, and kept our business thriving.

Ads? Sure they can bring traffic to the landing page. 

Sure they can make prospects interested. 

Pero kung wala sila pambili at that exact moment, or kung mahal yung course or product mo? Ano na? 

Waley na. 

So whatever skill you already have right now, , it would pair well with EMAIL Marketing. 

Are you an SEO Expert? Add Emails to that, you’re differentiated na from your competition. May unique upsell ka na that makes you hard to replace. 

Are you helping real estate agents get more qualified leads? Email marketing can nurture your prospects automatically for you. Again, you’re harder to replace. AI be damned.

Heck pwede nga wala ka pang skill e.

It’s just a superpower skill that’s surprisingly easy to learn, and something you simply can’t afford to ignore.
