💡the real secret to success (hint: it’s not motivation)

Halu !

You ever have one of those days na parang ayaw mo gumalaw? Yeah, same.

Am actually feeling that way while I'm writing this email. 😅

You see, I thought the key to success was all about motivation. Pero guess what?

Ang motivation pala ay parang ligo lang. The effects wear off over time, eventually bumabaho din tayo uli, lol.

Point is, we find ourselves running out of motivation sooner and sooner.

Then I learned something that changed my freelancing game forever: Success isn’t about motivation. It’s about showing up.

The Hardest Part is Just Starting

Napansin mo na ba?

  • The hardest part of working out is getting up and putting on your shoes.
  • The hardest part of writing is typing the first sentence.
  • The hardest part of prospecting is sending that first message.

Pero once you start? It gets easier pala.

That’s because action creates momentum, not the other way around. You don’t wait to feel motivated to take action—you take action, THEN motivation kicks in.

The 1% Rule: Small Steps, Big Wins

Akala natin para maging successful, kailangan all in agad.

Pero in reality, it’s the tiny, daily actions that make the biggest impact.

  • Reading 5 pages a day (actually listening on audible) = 7 books a year.
  • Doing 10 push-ups a day = stronger, healthier you.

Hindi mo kailangang magbago overnight. You just need to show up today.

How to Make “Showing Up” Automatic (mejo sirang plaka ako dito)

1️⃣ Start Ridiculously Small – Gusto mong mag-exercise? Start with 1 push-up. Gusto mong magsulat? Isang sentence lang. The key is making it so easy, you can’t say no. So easy, your brain can't make any other excuse na.

2️⃣ Lower the Bar on Bad Days – May araw talaga na wala kang gana. Okay lang! Do the minimum. One sentence is better than zero. One push-up is better than none.

3️⃣ Track Your Streak – May magic ang habit tracking. Maglagay ka ng checklist or calendar. Seeing your progress makes you want to keep going.

4️⃣ Stack Your Habits – Connect a new habit to something you already do. Example: After brushing your teeth, do five push-ups. After making coffee, read one page. Simple, di ba?

5️⃣ Shift Your Identity – Instead of saying “I want to work out,” sabihin mo: “I’m someone who moves every day.”

No One Became Great Overnight

Jerry Seinfeld became one of the greatest comedians by writing one joke a day. Stephen King writes every single day, rain or shine. Great athletes improve by just 1% daily.

The real secret? They don’t wait for motivation. They just show up.

So today, kahit gaano kaliit, show up for yourself.
