[💡wfunhome] Are you a special snowflake, {{contact.first_name}}

Yo Work Fun Home Fam,

Some time back, I had a chance to catch up with my old housemates from college.

Kahit may mga kanya-kanya na kaming mga buhay these days, we are a tight group, and we try to get together pa din paminsan-minsan.

It was the boys again just having fun and talking about the old days. They were so inner circle na groomsmen-level sila sa wedding ko.

My wife enforced the dress code dyan, and that’s the only reason why we look so dapper.

In real life, mga nerds and jologs talaga kami. We go way back to the lugaw + monay with cheese + pancit canton + wild bayabas budget days. We’re nowhere near as cool as that wedding groomsmen shot.

Eto talaga typical photo namin.

We were the kind of people who photoshopped our faces into fake direct-to-DVD movie posters for no apparent reason. Also, this movie is still in the making 15 years later.

We all used to live in one crummy apartment near UP Diliman at some point, and mostly magkakasama kami until either kinasal or nag-migrate (Netherlands, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Manila, Leyte, Batangas, Naga).

So yun na nga, back to present day:

I was surprised when the convo suddenly shifted to finding clients and making money online. For once I was the "expert" in the group haha!

Sa friend group ko na ito, you could say na ako na yung pinaka low IQ dito, and I often got chided for it dati lol. Ako yung nag-bulakbol and didn't take the same path as them, and ako din yung pinaka-extrovert.

Most of them have day jobs as programmers, bpo bosses, developer na tech leads, or downright professors sa university with phds..

and sabi ko sa sarili ko: “sheeeet this is my jam. Finally di na ako yung pinakabobo sa convo hahaha”

Kaso as luck would have it, palpak pa din hehe. Bokya pa din ako sa inuman ouch.

None of them knew the people and books I name-dropped so I could sound cool:

Russel Brunson (DotCom Secrets, ClickFunnels), Alex Hormozi (100M Offers, 100M Leads), Jordan Petersen (12 Rules for Life), Tim Ferris (4-Hour Work Week) or Ryan Holiday (The Obstacle is the Way, The Daily Stoic)

And these were my best frickin’ college friends na kasama ko sa bahay for years.

So napa-isip ako, and this is really for you din talaga .

Most likely you know a few people in that list because you’re a student of marketing or personal development. And you would think that everyone in the world should know these people, right?

Nope.

Even with millions and millions of followers, these big names we know are still unknown to most people.

What this means is, that even as freelancers, we have nothing to fear. We are not "special snowflakes." And our prospects don't care about us, our activities, or our mistakes.

So let's keep prospecting without the fear na please.

We learn more from our failures than our successes anyway.

So ayan ha, sana happy ka na hehe. Are you still scared na baka mapansin yung nag-iisang cold email mo and ma-hire ka agad if you send it to prospects?

Kahit yung mga idol natin hindi special, what makes you think na ikaw din?

So please lang ha, do me a favor and don’t be a special snowflake.

And I mean it with all the love in the world ha.

Unless you’re T-Swift or Ed Sheeran level famous, most people will never even notice us. Kahit nga magkamali-mali ka pa, or magpalit ka ng offer na naman, your prospects won’t care.

They won’t say na:

“ hey wait a minute. Didn’t you do social media marketing last month? Ah di ka na pwede mag-pitch sakin.”

Umm.. no.

The bottom line is, kung feeling mo mag-mamatter yung mga mali mo sa prospecting a week after your prospect said no… IT WON’T.

So go ahead and mag-kalat ka. Fail, and fail fast na.

Even your own worst mistakes are mostly in your head. Most people are also stuck in their own me-centric universe and di na nila napapansin yung iba.

Heck, pati nga mga best friends ko they have no idea what the hell I’m doing.

Well, maybe si Marc and Sid kasi they both work from home. Pero, they could care less about email marketing and open rates, and reply rates.

Pero pero pero, if perfectionist ka pa din and you still want to shorten your learning curve, then the next best thing you can do besides failing fast is to:

learn from the best in the country.

They’re launching their course called From Cold to Gold, Mapping your Path to Dream Clients using LinkedIn and Cold Emails.

They’re closing on October 12, so I suggest you check the link out for more details. Use code Shoden to get a secret bonus from me hehe.

Pero wait!!

Kung wala ka currently budget (and you’re not willing to send cold emails to 50 prospects today to see if kaya mo mag make money now), I’m actually sponsoring 2 lucky winners because that's how much faith I have in this program, and you just have to follow the instructions here.

That’s it. Hope you crush your week!
