[šŸ’”WFUN] The MWM, Doding Daga and You, {{contact.first_name}}!

Yo Work FUN Homies!

For todayā€™s fun activity, as if it wasnā€™t hard enoughā€¦

Iā€™d like to make my life harder by starting with an obscure headline and connect it to my pitch. (Write back if na-intriga ka at least hehe)

Good luck sa akin!

Here goes:

ļ»æIn 1981, a group of researchers placed rats in a wide container filled with water. In the middle of it was a small platform for them to rest on. This was called the Morris Water Maze, or MWM Test.

Different scientist, but also doing the MWM Test more recently.

The scientists were interested to see how long it would take the rats to find the resting area, and at the beginning of the experiment, they found and climbed the island in just 5.2 seconds on average.

So, the next time they were put in the tank, they were able to find it even faster.

Then, they made the water opaque with non-toxic food dyes, and also submerged the platform a bit so it would be invisible to the rats from the surface.

Now the real experiment began.

The scientists fed the rats the equivalent of the average American diet (which is really also the Pinoy diet if you think about it, may extra soy sauce and MSG lang satin)..

And these were foods high in sugar and fat.

After a few weeks of living on the changed diets, the rats took longer and longer to find the platform.

One specimen took 36 seconds (7x longer!) to find and climb the platform.

Not only that, the rats were now also having a hard time remembering kung nasaan na yung platform!

Theyā€™ve now become sluggish and slow.

Now, although the experiment was originally conducted to study diabetes and its relation to Alzheimerā€™s diseaseā€¦

One thing is also clear: "We are what we eat."

That also includes what we consume online, the skills that we practice, and what we study and learn.

And so.. my question for you is...

Have you ever wondered what kind of person you could have been if you'd read books and learn courses instead of doom-scrolling on FBā€¦?

ā€¦ if you reached out to more freelancing prospects instead of thinking about all the reasons they might say no?

ā€¦ if you ate healthier and worked out more instead of stuffing yourself with Grab and Food Panda?

If the best version of yourself, who used all your time productively and "ATE" the right learnings, were to stand face to face with you...

How different would -v2.0ā€™s life be from yours?

How much more money would -v2.0 be making?

How much more in shape would -v2.0 be?

What would -v2.0ā€™s relationships and family life look like?

Iā€™m not saying you should go crazy and go hard on learning and forget everything elseā€¦

Iā€™m simply suggesting that you reflect on some of your life choices that might be responsible for where you are right now. (and possibly project into the future)

Because it would break my heart if it took you 3 years to make a full-time income writing emails from home...

When alam mo naman there's already a clear way forward...

When on average John and Allanā€™s students do it in 90 days (heck, yung mga action-takers talaga have done it in under 40 pa nga because of the assignments and the co-working sessions).

With that being said though...

I hope the Morris Water Maze and the sugar-fed rats inspired you to make at least one meaningful change in your life thatā€™ll put you on a different trajectory.

And I thank you, bow! (na-connect ko yung topics, whew!)
