Sneak peak and book news!

It’s the first day of May, which means…
…I’m officially behind schedule. (Whoops! Though is it really behind schedule if I’m always behind?) In book news, I’ve just finished the first round of edits for Keeping You Close. This part is always torture, because the book is written, and I want to share it with you all, but there’s still a lot of steps to go (editing, formatting, and so on). As a peace offering, I’ve come to share a little snippet of Layla and Will’s story.
Out of habit, I went to Layla’s side to unlock the door for her, but she made no move to get in the car.
“I was thinking…” She swallowed, then looked at me from under her lashes. “Thinking about that kiss.”
Her voice was soft, a teasing caress over my skin that stroked my blood. In the moonlight, I could make out the freckles scattered over her nose as I leaned over her. You wouldn’t think freckles could be sexy, but on Layla?
On Layla, all I could think about was bending down and kissing each one. On unzipping that oversized jacket of mine she was wearing and kissing every single one spread over her body.
“Thinking about a repeat performance?” I kept my words light, but my voice had already dropped to a low tone laced with lust.
Because kissing Layla… damn. I had kissed girls before, but I’d never kissed someone like Layla. Someone whose whole body came alive in my arms.
Damn if that kiss hadn’t forced me into some cold showers this past week. I hadn’t expected another, had told myself I’d have to be content with the memory… but maybe not.
“To keep up the charade.” Her voice had taken on a soft, husky quality.
And I didn’t need any more convincing.
The first time had been a slow, hesitant kiss, at first.
We didn’t do slow tonight.
Aaaand that’s all I can show you for now. Don't forget to preorder Keeping You Close while it's still at 99 cents!
In non-book news, I took my first vacation in several years. And promptly got sick on it—norovirus, which I would not wish on my worst enemy. I hope you’re staying healthy! Still, it was beautiful and relaxing, even if I never actually made my way to the beach.
KYC comes out in a few weeks, so stay tuned for more book news and previews.
All that said, I’ll talk to you soon!
Lots of Love,
Vesper Young
