Greetings, welcome to the June newsletter. Half of the year has almost gone, boy, time flies. I hope this email finds you all well and in Sanur, or planning a visit to Sanur soon.
Budget Accommodation in Sanur!
When we read through the posts in the Things to do in Sanur Facebook group, most questions are about accommodation. It is pretty straightforward to find luxury and upmarket accommodation at places like Maya, Hyatt and Intercontinental.
But what about budget accommodation that is clean and tidy for people under $50 Australian a day at the other end of the scale? (Prices do fluctuate, and some of these places can be more expensive at times) These places do exist, and you can enjoy a budget-friendly stay at them.
- Hotel Jati Sanur is located centrally on Jalan Tamblingan close to the Maya. It offers comfortable rooms, a pool area, breakfast included, a Warung and a convenience store are also attached to the hotel.

- Sweet Corner offers small but comfortable and clean rooms with air conditioning. There is a pool area for swimming and even kitchen facilities you can use to cook. It is close to Warung Old Brick and Warung Naksa.
- Duyung Homestay is the absolute closest cheap accommodation to the beach, just 200 meters away. It has small, tidy rooms with air conditioning and a good-sized pool.
Things continue to change in Sanur
The seating is out front of the new restaurants and cafes
Up the north end of the beach path near the Port of Sanur at Pantai Matahari Terbit, some major work has been happening along the beachfront. A lot of the old shanti-looking warungs have been pulled down and replaced by newer modern buildings that are hosting food and drink businesses. New businesses include:
- GoGo Chicken
- Capri Pizza
- Ponis Ice Cream Cafe
- Pizza n Go
- Presso Cafe
- Goldmine Coffee
- Koja Coffee
- Sanur Mart - Mini Mart
There is a large area for seating outside the front of this place, a good spot to relax and hang out in Sanur. So far, they have finished this section, but there is more to come, with an adjacent area still under construction.
