Happy Holidays!

However you celebrate, I hope your winter days are full of sparkle, joy, and plenty of cuddles.

From the Writing Desk

Somehow, despite my furry friends' best attempts to hijack my computer, my newest installment of Sarah&Simon, The Hacker's Heist, will be released in just a few days! The paperback will appear on Dec. 5th and the ebook will be available at a special launch price on Dec. 8th.

Completing Sarah&Simon's first trilogy, The Hacker's Heist is a wild, adventure-filled romp through San Francisco full of twists, excitement, and hard decisions.

imageA pair of sidelined spies.

A hazardous heist.

An accident that could cost them everything.

These rookie agents better get it together before the world goes up in flames.

The fate of civilization as we know it hangs in the balance. All Sarah and Simon have to do is keep their teammates from killing each other, get Simon to commit to the job, face down security, paranoid CEOs, and wild sea lions, and, oh yeah, somehow steal the data that could save the world.

So, good luck with that.

High-risk missions. Razor-sharp wit. Unstoppable teen agents.

Around Town

San Francisco is abuzz with holiday excitement as the grey, rainy weather closes in. Sometimes I miss the soft, drifting snow of Colorado. It's funny how years away help you forget the less enchanting side of a place where it snows, like scraping your car in the morning and wearing gloves and hats INSIDE the car as you drive in to school or work, hoping the heater kicks in just a little faster today.

But there is a beauty and enchantment to the quiet, cozy overcast of rainy season as well, and a relief to days that don't get much below 55. Just cold enough for a nice hot chocolate, without the frozen eyelashes.

We celebrate Christmas, and had a lovely time yesterday picking out a beautiful tree. My Spokescat, Moki, approves. Wishing you chilly days and warm, cozy beverages.

All the best,

Featured Bookshelf Read for October:

Did you know I also write Middle Grade books? Logic would say these are books for middle school kids, but in the publishing world, it means books for kids from 8-12 years old, or in the US, grades 3-6.

My Renegade Girls series comes out of the summer camp I co-founded with my friend Vicky. I invent most of the projects for the kids, with the hopes of inspiring girls to get comfortable working with their hands, feel the thrill of creating things, and familiarizing them with the foundation of concepts they'll find later in their STEM classes, in hopes of bolstering confidence. I've taken some of these projects and woven them into solid fiction stories featuring girls kids can relate to, who face challenges, and failure, and ultimately triumph, as they navigate the world between elementary and middle school.

You can read all about it on the Renegade Girls website.

With illustrated hands-on projects, the Renegade Girls books have approximately the same reading level as the first few Harry Potter novels.
