LinkedIn creator mode - what you need to know

Jun 29, 2021 12:21 pm

Hey

A couple of weeks ago I switched my LinkedIn profile to creator mode. This is a setting that, if activated, displays your content more prominently and encourages others to follow you instead of asking to be a 1st-degree connection.

As I was talking to a group of coaches the other day, I realised not everyone knows about this new feature. Fair enough, it is still being rolled out and it's not yet available to everyone.

In case it is available to you though, I wanted to share a couple of resources about what it means for you and your profile.

This article was written by their Senior Product Manager and it explains how to activate the option (including screenshots).

For a quick explanation of how the creator mode differs from the default, check out this section of LinkedIn Help that offers a great summary.

Finally, for more resources and helpful explanations, visit the LinkedIn creators home page.

Together with YouTube and Medium, LI is one of the main platforms I use (and have done so since 2017) to grow my business. Not only does it give me the opportunity to showcase my skills and expertise, but it allows me to have meaningful interactions and DM conversations with the members of my audience.

It's a very powerful platform and, if your ideal client is on there, you would be missing out if you didn't use it.

I hope this helps and, as always, if you have any questions please let me know.

Until next time, stay savvy.

Alisa
