copyright infringement saga

Hi

Towards the end of March, I discover that someone who calls themselves a social media manager copied parts of one of my Medium articles and posted them as their own on LinkedIn and Facebook.

They didn't add anything to the text, a simple copy-paste job did the trick for them. What's more, they encouraged people to book a call to "find out more", i.e. share even more of my content, but privately and possibly for money.

It was clearly a case of copyright infringement and I took action as soon as I discovered it. I'm putting together a video to share how I dealt with it and the steps I took to build my case.

If you have questions about copyright infringement or want to know anything in particular about my case, please reply and let me know. I want to make the video as comprehensive and useful as possible.

Hopefully, you'll never have to use the advice I share in the video. But, if you're regularly putting good quality content out there, chances are someone will "draw" inspiration from it. Because it's easy and because they can - unfortunately social media platforms don't have good measures in place to prevent copyright infringement and protect creators. They only deal with it after it has happened.

I look forward to your questions and until next time, stay savvy.

Alisa
