Happy Martisor!

Hey
If you're not Romanian, you must be wondering if I made a typo in the subject line 😊. I didn't. Martisor is the tradition I was telling you about in my previous email and to be precise about the spelling, the correct version is Mărțișor, pronounced [mərtsiʃor] or [m-urgh-zz-ee-shore].
Today the symbol of Martisor is a small trinket, brooch or pin with a white and red string attached to it. People (mostly women and girls) wear it on their jackets or jumpers for the entire month of March. It is believed that wearing the red and white string brings prosperity and health for the rest of the year. You can read more about the origins and symbolic meaning of Martisor here.
I loved giving these small tokens of appreciation to friends and family, but I don't get to do it anymore since moving to England. Therefore, this year I am offering you a virtual Martisor, .
Please accept it with my best wishes for the rest of the year. May it be full of health and prosperity!
Take care and speak soon.
