Hey and happy 2021!

I hope you had a great break and have started the year on a high.

I personally ended it on a high, having been listed as the #1 Business Coach in Cambridge by Influence Digest 🎉. It was an unexpected surprise and a nice way to end the year.

Anyway, that's not what this email is about. I wrote an entire LinkedIn post about it if you want to read more. What I do want to talk to you about is what followed after that announcement.

A lot of people reached out to congratulate me and send their best wishes, which I very much appreciate. But there were also people who reached out to 'pick my brain', tell me about 'amazing opportunities', etc.

I have a YouTube video coming up on the topic of saying NO to people and opportunities. It's not my intention to be rude or act like some things are beneath me, but the truth is everyone wants a piece of you when they see you as successful.

You have to learn to protect yourself, your time and energy, and filter these 'opportunities' when they come knocking on your door. In business (and in life) you have to make yourself a priority - nobody else will do it for you. And that means sometimes saying NO to others, so you can say YES to yourself.
