Holla ,

comment ca va? how is it going?

i trust your day went smoothly just like mine, hope you did your task for today?

Today's task was an interesting one, sadly i couldn't call the one person i really wanted to talk to. a part of me was readdy to take the bold step and call but the the other part wasn't ready for the rejection i knew i would receive. its okay though, one day i would jist you all of my friend kelechi. so enough of the jist, it is time to get down to today's study, which is chapter 2 of Luke. i hope you read it today.

chapter 2 is a very interesting read as it tells us of the birth of Jesus. the verse starts with a decree that went out from ceaser Augusta, it stated that the whole empire should be registered. We read in verse 4 how joseph went up to Judea from Nazareth with his wife to be registered .whilst they were there, the time came for her to give birth to baby Jesus. verse 7 records that she gave birth to him and laid him in a manger as there was no space in the inn.

in verse 15 we read of the angels appearing to the shepherds and giving praise such that the shepherds want to go straight to Bethlehem and see for themselves what happened.

from verse 16-20 we read how they found Mary and joseph with the baby lying in the shed. They told Jesus parents what the angels said in praise and Mary received the words in her heart and treasured them.

The circumsition and presentation of Jesus takes place from verse 21 -24, we read in verse 25 about a man named simeon. the bible records that he was a righteous and devout man. in verse 26, it was revealed to him by the holy spirit that he would not see death before he saw the lord's messiah. when Jesus parents bring in Jesus to perform their customary law, we read that simeon took Jesus in his arms and praised God. you can find the praises from verse 29-32.

the family return to Galilee in the town of Nazareth after they had completed everything according to the law of the lord, we read in verse 40 that the boy grew up and became strong, filled with wisdom, and God's grace was on him.

when Jesus was 12 years old, the parents travelled to Jerusalem for the Passover festival, this wasn't the first time as it happened every year. this one was different, as they were returning, Jesus stayed behind and his parents didn't know. They assumed he was behind, till they went searching with family and friends and couldn't find him.so they returned to Jerusalem to find him and after 3 days they found him in the temple among the teachers listening and asking questions (wow)

His parents were astonished and his mother said "son why have you treated us like this? Your father and i have been anxiously searching for you. Jesus replies "why were you searching for me, dont you know that i had to be in my fathers house? but they didn't understand.

This goes to show you that sometimes people would not always understand God's instruction to you, Jesus said "i had" to be in my fathers house. He had to obey that instruction, in the last two verse we read that he went down to Nazareth with them and was obedient to them. he also increased in wisdom and stature and in favour with God and his people.* ooh what a glorious read.*

not only did we learn about the circumstances surrounding his birth, we also learn about the kind of child that he was. how awesome is this?

i know there is so much gem in this verse that we have studied so before you go to bed tonight, write down something that you learnt today in your journal or your phone. dont just read and read and not learn from what you read.it is important!

we continue tomorrow, expect my task by 7am ( dont worry i wont oversleep again)

Have a lovely night rest
