THE DIRTY LIFE STUFF

I’m going to try and keep this issue a little briefer than usual. I’m headed up to my cabin in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula for the weekend to get a break from reality, do a little ice fishing, and shovel the roof off so it doesn’t collapse. I’m completely off the grid there. We don’t get cell phone service, the only power comes from solar panels, and we def in a hole in the ground separate from the house. You know? One of those little stall looking contraptions with a crescent moon carved in the door. It's a swell time.

I’ll try to take pictures, but I’m not very good at it. I don’t really find my visage very appealing so I’ve grown accustomed to not making the capture of light part of my fun routine.

Two real quick bullet points: 1.) I created a Slab Steele Fan Club on Facebook for any Steeleheads that may actually exist, and 2.) It only has, like, five members right now so I’m not going to post the link yet. But it’s out there if you want to do the leg work. Be warned, it’s gonna be a pretty drab place until yours truly gets back to civilization on Monday.

SLAB STEELE, REDUX

The first book in my Worlds of Craterball series, Slab Steele and the Venusian Exchange, is still available for the low, low price of 99 cents. At least until I decide to change it, which could be next week or next month. Who knows? Definitely not me.

SHORT STORY, PART DEUX

The updated version of The Mercurian Endeavor is still free on Amazon for US readers. I’ve sent some one sided correspondence to Big Jeff asking him to drop her down to zero for you wonderful folks in other markets, but he keeps ignoring me. I think he’s playing with rockets or something.

THE DIRTY PROMO SECTION

I’m a little thin this week. I had a couple doozies lined up, but they kicked me out for being one under the average click requirement. Can you flaring believe that def? For real, bruh!

BookFunnel

Fantasy Giveaways

StoryOrigin

Scumbags Act I

I think this one is a really cool idea. A few of these books are free and some are 99 cents, but all of them have one fact in common. Like Slab Steele, the main characters are—for the lack of better words—raging, yet somehow endearing, douche canoes.

READ OF THE FORTNIGHT

Star Wolf

by LA Frederick

Something ancient, before the time of Wolf and Tiger, has awoken in the infinite abyss of space.

image

Five planets, and their entire species, are dead, nothing more than dust and ruin.

Some say that the mythical Space Krakens have returned, after countless millennia in hibernation.

The Winter Tiger has offered the Tiger’s expertise to deal with the threat, with only the Wolves unable to let go of the past. Star Wolf, the Wolf leader in waiting, cannot fathom how he is the only one who can see the Winter Tiger as false.

With peace in the galaxy twenty years in its infancy, after the brutal Apex Wars between Tiger and Lion, the majority of the council are only too eager to accept the Winter Tiger’s help.

And so, Star Wolf must follow, for his sanity, and perhaps the safety of the entire galaxy. The fate of every species touched by the Universal Beacon rests in one young Wolf’s paws.

AUDIOBOOK OF THE FORTNIGHT

Long Paradise

by James Murdo

An ancient mystery has returned. Everyone wants to survive. Everyone wants answers.

The Outer Layer is an enigma to its residents. Representatives from countless races and civilisations wander the many territories hoping to unlock the secrets and progress further into its depths.

An anomaly has been detected in space by an artefact from an extinct civilisation. Ciqalo, a machine intelligence from the Wanderer civilisation, is tasked with investigating and weaponizing the anomaly for a galactic war.

Tolren, playmate to the heirs of a powerful Roranian family, becomes a hunted fugitive. He finds himself thrust into a dangerous adventure aboard a structure in space that defies understanding. What’s more, he’s not alone. Seremend, a fellow Roranian, has also been ensnared.

Why have they all been chosen?

If it’s not too much trouble, please take a moment to leave a review or rating of my work at one of the links below. Hearing a few nice words, seeing a new rating pop up, or finding out that someone actually got a laugh out of one of my stupid jokes makes me glow like I’ve been lit with the fires of Sol. Plus, in a world obsessed with stars and algorithms, every little bit of exposure helps.
