THE REGULAR DIRT
Last time I sent one of these out, I told you fine folks I was heading up to celebrate my bud’s not-wedding and do a little fishing. The not-wedding went great, fishing was awesome, and I even came back with a little gift--poison ivy all over my flaring legs. Oh well. Such is life. Here's a view from the water for you. Think you know the name of the river? Find this photo on my Instagram and leave a comment.
Aside from all that def, I’ve had a bit of a rough week and I could use a little cheering up. Let’s switch things up a little bit and do a giveaway, eh? You see, Ron has this thing about puns. Ron love pun. Pun is life. So, I’m asking you fine people to make me laugh by submitting your very best pun here. What’s in it for you? Why your very own Venus Flytrap mug, of course! Well, for one of you.
I’ll comb through your responses and pick a few of my favorites. We can vote on ‘em next time. The joke with the most votes will get their very own, officially licensed Venus Flytrap craterball team mug courtesy of Ron. If this goes well, maybe we’ll do something like this once a month. Sound cool? Cool.
THE EXTRA DIRTY DIRTY
Reviews, reviews, reviews. I’ve come to learn that everything about this wannabe author business seems to revolve around those dumbdeffer reviews. Personally, I hate writing reviews. I’m more of a star it and move on to the next read/listen kind of guy. If I like what the author wrote, I’ll buy the other stuff they wrote. Pretty damn simple. But I have to play the flaring game now, so—against my better judgment—I went and added The Mercurian Endeavor to Goodreads. If you’ve actually read your free copy of The Mercurian Endeavor, are the review leaving type, and want to say a few words, you can do so here.
If you are all of the above, actually enjoyed my toilet humor, and for some reason moved on to Slab Steele and the Venusian Exchange, you can leave a review for that at the bottom of the Amazon page here or on Goodreads here.
Ratings are cool with me too, by the way. Especially on Audible.

READ OF THE WEEK(ISH):
The Heisenberg Corollary by C.H. Duryea
Cutting-edge science. Bloodthirsty aliens. Can this band of nerdy scientists save the multiverse one dimension at a time?
Brilliant physicist Zeke Travers is on the brink of a scientific breakthrough… and a nervous breakdown. So after the beta test of his interdimensional drive goes off without a hitch, he breathes a sigh of relief. But when an alien warship materializes out of nowhere with guns blazing, Zeke and his team must risk using their invention to jump to a parallel universe
The Heisenberg Corollary is the first book in the hilarious Slagmaster Cycles, a science fiction fantasy mash-up series with an attitude. If you like quirky characters, non-stop action, and geeky pop-culture references, then you’ll love C. H. Duryea’s snarky, laugh-out-loud page-turner.
REVIEW OF THE WEEK(ISH):
YuFu’s Run by Rayner Ye
A diamond fisher on the run for crimes he didn't commit. A huge political conspiracy.
Rayner is looking for a few ARC readers for her upcoming cyberpunk space opera thriller.
I really love the cover on this one. I’m a sucker for anything with a spaceship and a big looming planet so I just might pick this one up myself.
If you’re already familiar with her work, this takes place in her Plan8 Universe. It’s a great opportunity to dive back in if you’re missing it, or see what it’s all about without breaking the bank.
Want to be one those kids that liked something before it was cool? Pick up a copy today and help Rayner out.
Until next time.
