LATEST NEWS & UPDATE:

It's JUNE! When the heck did that happen, y'all?

May was a whirlwind of fabulousness, and I loved it all. One of my local author friends got married, which was the siren call for some of my very bestest author friends and favorite people to come to Ireland to be there for the special day.

For those of you who have recently joined my mailing list and who haven't heard me gush about them yet, please meet my author wives Tracie Delaney and Clare Sager.

Without these two women, I wouldn't have made it through the last year of my life. I know that sounds extreme and dramatic, but it's also 100% true. So, if you haven't read their books, and you need something new to try, I think you should go read their stuff. You can thank me later.

The wedding itself was a magical day, everything that the gorgeous bride deserved. The food was exceptional and plentiful. Honestly, I've never had such a delicious meal at a wedding before - and that's including at my own.

The drive there and back (it was a couple hours away,) sleeping in strange beds, and walking on uneven ground with new shoes really did a number on my back, so there were a few additional and unexpected recovery days when I got back. It was so worth it though. I keep telling myself that recovery isn't linear, but in the day-to-day when the to-dos are stacking up, it can get kinda hard not to rag on myself, you know?

Showing myself grace has been quite the journey as well. It's really hard to do sometimes. And I know I'm not alone there either.

The other big thing I did in May, was take my first family vacation since 2019. It was my major goal for 2025, to take my family on vacation, and while it wasn't my first choice of vacation (we're adventure and explore kind of people versus sitting by the pool for a week kind of people,) I can't begin to tell you how badly I needed that trip.

I barely opened my laptop for a whole week. A WHOLE WEEK, y'all. WTF?! That's unheard of. I wrote 1500 words one evening before bed, but otherwise that sucker stayed OFF.

I read six books in seven days, played mini golf, swam in the freezing cold pool, walked along the beach, and even had a couple of cocktails. It was the R&R I needed sooooo badly.

It took a few days to get my feet back under the table when I got back, but it was worth every second in the Majorcan sunshine. My son loved it too, and asked if we could go back - Sol Katmandu park and resort got his thumbs up, which just made it even more worthwhile.

That's my update for the busy month of May, to kick start June, here's your monthly freebie. It's a close proximity sports romance by Brooke O'Brien about a woman who's spent her life playing it safe and her brother's ex-teammate who risks it all for the chance to spend a week with her. The Games We Win is a prequel in the Braysen U series: a series of interconnected standalones following the football players of Braysen University and the women who can't help but fall for them.
