What's that coming over the hill?

LATEST NEWS & UPDATE:
Is it the new school year? YES IT FUCKING IS! If you can't tell, I'm a little bit thrilled about it.
Our school went back SUPER early (for here) this year on the 22nd August. Kiddo wasn't exactly happy, but I think we all needed it.
Y'all, this summer has been shit across the board. I'm very glad to see the back of it. It's been so cold and wet that we've barely managed to do much of anything fun.
My son is 10 years old, and here in the UK in Primary 7 (10/11 years old) they sit a test to determine what post-primary/secondary/high school they're going to. The stress from trying to get my kid to do homework over the summer and for the impending test is crippling. I'm not sleeping.
In no world should this amount of pressure be put on kids - and my son is one of the younger ones in his year. It's just too much.
I'm glad the baton is passed back to the teacher, but I'll be even gladder when we get to the 25th November. Because by then, both tests will be over and done with, and I'll allow germs back in the house.
Oh, yeah, have I mentioned Lewis generally always gets a bad dose of strep every October? Keeping him healthy enough to sit both papers is going to be impossible.
Can you tell I'm a little stressed?
I'M A LITTLE STRESSED, Y'ALL.
I got up at butt-crack-of-dawn this morning and wrote some more of Sterling and Cora's story. It's been a little while since I've done a for real third act break up, so I'm dusting off those muscles.
Here's what I just wrote this morning:
It takes less than ten minutes for him to get changed out of his fake-sick loungewear, and I assume pack a bag before he leaves my apartment with a god almighty slam of the door behind him.
With trembling hands I manage to find my phone and open the text message box to send a message to my friends as I slide my way onto the floor.
Cora: Rule #6. 911!!!!
Pre-order Sterling and Cora now!
It's going to be a DOOZY!!!
Other than racing the deadline for my editor, avoiding plotting my next book, and trying to square away everything I need for some Raccoon's covers I'm working on, I'm just treading water.
Unfortunately I had to cancel attending RAM (an author conference) in Houston in October, and I'm still crying about it. I also had to cancel my attendance at Lust in the City in Michigan in November. This year just isn't yearing the way I wanted it to. I'm sorry, y'all.
I'll be back to darken your inboxes again soon, hopefully with a stunning new pair of covers for you to jizz your pants over, and two new audio books are due to drop in the coming two weeks as well. It's starting to pick up here at Camp Lasairiona. Between now and the end of the year I'll be publishing four audio books, a hockey novella, Protocol 3, and attending one more UK author signing.
Phew.
Can't say I rested on my laurels this year, that's for sure!
Until next time, don't do anything I wouldn't do,
Have you joined my reader group yet? If not, then head over to: Margaritas, Men and Mischief with Lasairiona. As the name suggests, it's a place for my readers to chat about all things romance - with a healthy dose of sarcasm, sharp wit, conversations comprised entirely of GIFs, sneak peeks, giveaways and a plethora of memes. It's one of my absolute favorite places on the internet and I'm really enjoying getting to know readers that bit better over there. Don't be shy - we don't bite... much! Come on over!
