LATEST NEWS & UPDATE:
Howdy, y'all,
On February 23rd 2023, Justin and Savannah's book, Freezing the Puck, went live on Amazon. Just over three years later, today, May 21st 2026, the final book in the Raccoons series, Splitting the D, is officially out in the world and the series is officially over.
It all started out so well, then part way through, I busted my back, ended up not working for months, and to be honest, there were moments when I didn't think I'd get this series finished.
Artemis dug his heels in and wouldn't give me his story.
Athena had to be tagged in earlier than planned, and then her story took a wildly different turn to what I'd planned as well. And lining up that timeline as best I could (turns out I made an epic fuck-up in the timeline in Pen and Tate's story and just couldn't get the train back on the tracks...) was brutal.
By the time I sat down to write Artemis's story, the series was, from a business point of view, dead. Preorders were at a series low. And I had conversations with friends about just moving on, but I couldn't. I needed Arte to get his story, especially because he finally opened his mouth and told me he was gay, and the Claudia storyline the way I originally intended wasn't going to work.
It's been a wild ride. Wild. I've lived and breathed these characters, this world, this sport for three years, and my heart is both full and happy, and simultaneously broken that it's coming to an end with today's release.
As always, I can't ever let all-the-way go, so I have a wee sapphic novella coming out later in the year, but once Megan and Ophelia are released, that'll be the end of it.
For those of you new here, or for those of you who may have missed something along the way, here's the reading order list for the series:
Freezing the Puck - Justin and Savannah
Pulling the Goalie - Ares and Eloise
Crashing the Net - Apollo and Edith
Lighting the Lamp - Raffi and Tori
Dropping the Mitts - Tate and Penelope
Snowflakes and Slapshots (Novella)
Home for the Hockey-Days (Novella) - August and Rowan
Riding the Pine - Scott and Athena
Dump and Chase (Novella) - Hunter and Gabriella
Unmasking the Enforcer (Novella) - Mason and Lilith
Splitting the D - Artemis and Xavier
Checking the Queen - Megan and Ophelia (not yet available - watch this space!)
I just can't believe we're finished with the Cedar Rapids Raccoons, but when I tell you, the Ravens' series is going to absolutely SLAP, I'm not kidding.
I can't thank you all enough for coming on this ride with me, and I hope I've given the series, the characters, the world the conclusion it all deserves.
If you have time, once you're done binge reading Arte and Xavi's new book, hit reply in here and let me know which couple has been your favourite, which trope I've written has been your favourite, and what you'd like to see me write in future novels.
A million thank yous, and happy reading Splitting the D!
