The triumph of light over darkness and evil.

Howdy y'all! How goes it?
Did that subject line make you click? I feel like short of offering nudes of hot dudes, or free chocolate and books, getting people to open emails can be a tricky business.
Isn't Russell lickable? For real, though. Lincoln was delicious, but there's something to be said for Russell's smolder... that solid jaw... those shoulders *gulp* yeah, I'm here for it. The lovely Kate over at Y'all That Graphic did such an amazing job on this cover!
With only two weeks to go, advance copies in the hands of my ARC team, and Molly and Finn's book in its early stages, I'm feeling all the feels (I'm sure you're all shocked). If you haven't yet pre-ordered Russell and Sabrina's story, Two for Holding, you'll wanna go do that, right here.
For those of you who don't know, a few years back, for about 18 months, I lived in a city called Pune, in India. My husband's job took us there, unfortunately it was also where he lost his job of 22 years with a Fortune500 company and we got sent back to Northern Ireland.
This week is Diwali in India, the festival of lights. Many Hindus observe Diwali by lighting small oil lamps known as ‘diyas’ in honor of Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and good fortune. The lamps symbolize the triumph of light over darkness and evil. During my time in Pune, it was one of my favorite holidays (Holi was the other) - Though their sweet treats were often way too sweet for me! Everywhere you look during Diwali, brightly colored lights cover buildings, the rangoli skills are next-level insane, and the painting of diyas was something both Lewis and I loved to do. It's a warm and happy time. I love the symbolism of light winning over darkness, especially at this time of year.
Living in India was an experience that resonated with me, it's a place that I became fond of during my time there (though it really was such a difficult place to acclimate to) and I made so many friends I miss dearly. I wanted to add a little hat-tip to my time in such a beautiful, vibrant country by writing an Indian character into my Snow Pirates series. Her name is Sabrina, and after having a friend in India read it for me (to make sure I didn't somehow unknowingly trigger a war with India) I feel much better about doing my time there justice. I'm excited for y'all to read about her.
Anyway, I need to get a wriggle on, today I have big plans baking banana bread with Lewis who is still off for mid-term-break, and I need to have a chat with Molly and Finn about their story.
Meanwhile here, have a teaser from Sabrina and Russell's book, Two for Holding (November 18th release)
