Somebody call a priest (or a solicitor)

LATEST NEWS & UPDATE:
It's Robert McAllister here. I don’t usually send these.
Anyone who knows me (not many to be fair,) knows I prefer to observe from a distance and keep my thoughts where they belong—in my own head, where no one can argue with them. Our Emma is dead on but sometimes she'd pick a fight over two flies climbing up a wall as my da used to say.
Unfortunately, I’ve recently found myself in the orbit of a family who treat personal boundaries the way they treat speed limits.
As a suggestion.
The Morrigans are… an experience. And, let's face it, not always a good one.
There’s always noise. Someone is always shouting. Someone is always laughing. Someone is always eating something that smells aggressively of garlic. Okay, that last someone's generally Taranis.
As a professional athlete I'd expect him to be a little more 'my body is a temple' but I suppose if you balance out the carbs and cream with equal parts garlic it does something? Other than make you a raging arsehole anyway.
This family don't mince their words. Opinions fly around the room like they're contenders in the world darts championship, and no matter how I position myself, I seem to be always in the line of fire.
Don't get me wrong, I'm holding my own, I think. And if I struggle, I throw in a fake leg joke, and that does the job rightly.
Thelma Morrigan, the matriarch, is a force to be reckoned with. I’ve been offered tea more times in the last month week than I have in the last few years. I’ve been told, very sternly, that I look tired. And I've been asked if I want more food because apparently I could do with some more meat on my bones.
They fight—properly fight—and then five minutes later someone’s handing over a plate of food like it’s a condition of the Good Friday Agreement. They can say the worst things to each other and still show up.
It's fucking wild.
They operate on loyalty. On a kind of relentless, inconvenient love that doesn’t ask your permission. And by dating RhiRhi, I’ve found myself… included.
Outside of their Da, I mean. He's still got a bake on him like a scalped arse. But the others, even Taranis, they're coming around to the idea I'm not leaving. And I'm not.
I keep waiting for the catch. For the moment the acceptance is withdrawn, and I’m reminded I don’t belong. But it hasn’t happened yet.
And for the first time in a long time, I don’t feel like I’m just passing through.
So if you like:
🔥 A hero who pretends he doesn’t care
🔥 A heroine who could flatten you
🔥 Unwanted feelings, and absolutely zero chill
🔥 Loud, chaotic, love-hard family dynamics
🔥 Sexual activity in a public lavatory - Article 75 of the Sexual Offences (Northern Ireland) Order 2008
…then The Fly-Half and the Fling is your book.
Anyway.
Mind yourselves.

Theo by Victoria Denault (April 17, 2026)
I don’t deserve a second chance at hockey, or a first chance with Lola. I’m taking both anyway.
Theo is a slow-burn, friends-to-lovers, heartfelt MF hockey romance. This love story is full of swoony romantic moments, laugh-out-loud family moments, and sprinkled with small town vibes, a wee bit of angst and a dollop of suspense.
