What can I say? I love alliteration.

How is everyone doing? Before I forget to share, I joined a hop over on Instagram and I want to make doubly sure that those over on the 'gram don't miss out on the chance to win some book money and signed paperbacks... y'all better believe that I mailed a signed copy of Two for Interference halfway across the world during the plague so I could participate in this hop. I love these girls, and their books. It's open internationally too - so don't let a lil thing like geography scare you off!

What else is new?

We are four weeks out from Russell and Sabrina going out into the world and I'm feeling pretty good about it, which usually means I've done something stupid like changed his eye color halfway through the book without realizing. Good times. If you haven't pre-ordered the lovely single dad Snow Pirate's story, you can go right ahead and do that here.

In other 'Las-related' news, last week was the first week in almost two years where I felt something close to being 'normal'. Did you know I'm a Bond fan? Well, I am. And I've waited six long years for No Time To Die to be released. For all other movies I've wanted to watch, I waited, or watched at home (Black Widow), but Bond... Bond needs the big screen.

We went VIP (smaller screen, bigger seats, and they space people out here, making sure there are seats between every couple) and y'all... when I say this was my favorite Bond movie - I'm not even exaggerating. I've never before cried at a Bond movie and this one had me sobbing - twice. Mhmmmm. It was epic.

Less than a week later, I was back in the rink. Guys. The rink is my happy place. When I step inside the Odyssey (SSE) arena in Belfast, my heart soars. There's just something electrifying about a live game of hockey. I won't lie, it did my soul good to be back watching my boys on the ice.

I even got to wear my 'Sarah jersey' for the first time. I met Sarah way back in 05/06 when she left a comment on one of my YouTube videos (yup, I really do make friends just about anywhere!) and we became fast friends. We always talked about meeting up in the flesh, but unfortunately she passed away in 2019 from a disease called Moya Moya and we never got to hang out and yell obscenities at a hockey game together.

Her parents recently made the trip to Ireland though, and they managed to find a spare hour in their busy travel itinerary to meet up with me. Man, that was emotional and I had to cry it out in the car for a good half hour before I could bring myself into a drive-safe state. Not only did we hang out, but they gave me this EPIC Flint Generals jersey which belonged to Sarah. It's a gamer (game worn) and signed by the player she and I bonded over when our friendship began. I know, totes emosh, right?

Sarah was dearer to me than I think she realized. She was right there for me through each move across the world (Ireland to Texas, then to India), for all of my infertility issues, and just the day to day grind of life. There's something special about an online friendship, at least for me. I'm much more inclined to reveal my vunerabilities and stuff I wouldn't necessarily share with someone face-to-face, so we were pretty close, and she was a huge fan of my writing and supportive of my endeavor to publish my books.

Maybe it's time to write a hockey obsessed badass into my books and call her Sarah ;-)

Hockey, Bond, besties and Book Money. That's it for this fortnightly email. I do have a question for you though, something I saw over on TikTok. What causes you to DNF a book? What will make you put down a book and not pick it up again?

Until next time,
