What the hell was I thinking?

Send gin, send plenty, and send it fast.

My kid came home with his clarinet, and I'm really starting to reevaluate my decision to be a music parent. Did you know I played the voilin in school? I played from the age of 7 to 18. By the age of 18 I was teaching little kids and older adults to play, too.

When the form came home before summer asking if we wanted to have Lewis evaluated to play an instrument, I asked him. I ticked 'all instruments' because he told me that he would be happy to play any on the list.

And now there's a clarinet in my shoebox apartment.

His homework for this week is to practice putting it together, taking it apart, and blowing on it without puffy cheeks.

Like I said... send gin.

This week I want to give y'all a freebie. I know, it hasn't been long since I gifted y'all with the last freebie, but what can I say? I'm nice like that. This short story was in an anthology for a few months and now I got my rights back, I wanted to offer it up as a lil treat for those of you who love Chelsea and Jeremy and haven't already read it.

For those of you who are new to town and haven't yet discovered this part of my backlist, Jeremy has a cameo in my current book, Two for Interference, so you have kinda sorta met him. (You need to use the email you're signed up to receive my newsletter with to unlock the freebie.)

Gimme my short story!

The reception Two for Interference has received has been more than I could have anticipated or imagined, and while I've never been a whiz at graphics, Canva, or PaintshopPro, a bunch of bookstagrammers have made some incredible edits for Cleo and Lincoln that I really wanted to share a couple with everyone today.

Aren't they everything? For those of you who are visual about books, these asthetics are just *chefs kiss* I'll maybe share more with y'all next time. To say I'm obsessed would be quite the understatement, I'm so very grateful to the bloggers who took time to make them.

Anyways, for anyone who hasn't already pre-ordered Russell and Sabrina's story, book two, Two for Holding - you might wanna get on that. They're turning out to be quite the fun pair to write!

One last thing - I know I have a bunch of recommendations in the section below, but since I was on the ARC team for this book, I wanted to give it a special mention. Age gap + older brother's best friend = fab! I loved it!

Four Letter Feelings

Jeremy Lewis has just returned from a year in Europe, ready to start college in Alabama and pursue his dream career in the National Hockey League. Other than boring school work, he’s eager to play hockey, hang out with his new teammates and maybe even rekindle an old flame when Chelsea Davis unexpectedly reappears in his life.

Life is looking pretty darn peachy.

But when his world is turned upside down by a tragic loss, merely surviving each day feels like an achievement. How can he get through college and keep his budding career on track when all he wants to do is drink and squander his parent’s fortune? Can he convince Chelsea he’s a changed man when he seems so intent on his own destruction?
