9th week of Q3 is in full swing. and we are more than halfway through August - where does the time go!  

Happy New Yam Festival to all my fellow Igbos all over. Normally we would gather at an event space several hours later from when we were supposed to be and parry the night away but that's not the move at this time due to Covid-19. As an alternative, many people in my community join in for a massive zoom meeting. We got dressed and sat with the family over so dope food and celebrated with our fellow Igbos on the other side of the screen. The intentions were good, but for me, the connection was lost. ⁠

For Business: we had 1 client where we needed to terminate the agreement with the seller. This was due to the seller refusing to address the issues that came up during the home inspection. The property was a newly renovated duplex in west but several of the items showed that the owner cut corners with the project. In order to fill comfortable with the purchase, my clients asked that all "major defects" as pointed out by the home inspector be addressed. Fair and logical move right? Especially for something being marketed as newly renovated right. We tried to work it out with the seller but no budge. The seller eventually replied with "take it as-is or feel free to terminate". I relayed that message to my clients and we had the earnest money back in 24 hours. Message: Things don't always work out and you shouldn't lower your standards or lower your value or lower what you want to make a situation work out. ⁠ ⁠
