as Salaamu Alaykum all,

An Idea I was thinking about this week

Sometimes giving labels to certain thoughts or ideas can help us retain the idea in our mental toolkits to then employ at opportune times. As the repetitions increase, these "go-to" thoughts can become habitual. One such thought for me is, "I'll have tranquillity instead" - this makes it much easier to switch off from those things that will likely have a net-negative effect on your fulfilment.

A juicy argument on social media? I'll have tranquillity instead, alhamdulillah

Try to keep this to yourself or risk annoying people (my speciality ๐Ÿ˜‚)

Hadith of the week:

He who cannot be trusted has no faith; he who has no covenant has no religion. (Ahmad, al-Bayhaqi)

A quote to think about

"The wise take the business of laughing at themselves seriously. They hedge their pronouncements and are sceptical in their conclusions. Their certainties are not as brittle as those of others. They laugh from the constant collisions between the noble way theyโ€™d like things to be and the demented way they in fact often turn out. "

One question to ask ourselves:

What would a Wali of Allah do here?

This avoids using "jzk" or other abbreviations.

This is still a "short cut" but it looks and feels better.

"it's not about having an 8 Pack" - Practice what you Preach!

In this clip Gabriel Al Romani talks of how there is sometimes a disconnect between the advice being preached and the actions/lifestyle of the preacher.

This in turn affects the adoption of any advice given, given the listener, especially in the case of younger listeners, will lose respect for such a person.

An AMAZING app called ู†ุฎุชู… that displays a verse from the holy Qur'an every time you use your phone.

Another example of how we can use our devices to "optimize" our daily habits.

These slight adoptions can have an akhirah changing effect if you think about it.
