Hello ,
Guess what? I’m turning 40 tomorrow! 🥺
So, this newsletter is going to be me sharing a list of all I’m my thankful for and things you may not know about me.
I’m going to be sharing 40 exciting details in total and it could be either way. Let’s do the countdown together. Know that in all of this, I just want you my reader to have fun with me and get to know me more.
Get ready to be surprised!
- I’m thankful that I have God and I found Him at a very young age. It changed every single thing about my life and gave me a lot of clarity.
- I’m thankful for my parents and the way they raised me. I’m grateful for my dad because the entrepreneur in me started from him. I’m grateful for my mom, my prayer warrior, the first covering I ever had.
- I’m grateful for my husband. They say he who finds a wife, finds a good thing. I dare to say he who has a great husband is blessed by God.
- I’m thankful for my 3 daughters. They make me bold and want to be a better woman every day.
- I’m grateful for my older siblings who have taught me so much about life and are always looking over me, trying to protect me.
- I’m grateful for my younger siblings… they make me want to stay ever young… I love them so so much..
- I’m grateful for my friends in every season of my life. They say people have different friends for different seasons. I have had different friends in every season and I’m grateful.
- I’m grateful for my failures.
- I’m grateful for my successes.
- I’m grateful for every age that I’ve ever hit.
- I’m grateful for my health. Most people don’t know but most of my birthdays in the first nine years of my life, were spent in the hospital because of a high case of asthma.
- I’m grateful for my education.
- I’m grateful for the work of my hands.
- I’m grateful for my extended family. My aunties, uncles and cousins. My extended families have played a huge role in my life. Especially from my mom’s side. I grew up with my cousins, aunties and it was a lot of fun. In fact I joke around telling people I have 3 moms because my mom had two older sisters and they played a big part of my upbringing. So I’m very grateful for them.
- I’m grateful for life-changing experiences. For those that may not know, I had a life-changing experience four years ago when I lost four parents in 3 years and I also had a health scare. Since then, I’ve chosen to live my life fearlessly and I’m grateful for that.
- I’m grateful for every opportunity I’ve ever had in my life.
- I’m grateful for my church. I’m a big church girl for those that may not know. I love to go to church. I love to read my Bible.
- I’m grateful for everyday of my last 40 years.
- I’m grateful for my going out and coming in. For every time I stepped out and came back in safely.
- Lastly, I’m grateful for my newsletters and every opportunity I get to shine my light and be the best version of myself.
Now for my fun facts list…
- I’m a cheerleader. As long as I know you have a goal, I love to cheer people on.
- I love history. I love reading people’s true stories. I find it inspiring and it makes me see a different side to life.
- I love to say it’s funny that… when I’m speaking and it’s funny that I say that 😅
- I absolutely love going to the gym. Most people don’t know this but I’m a gym head that will love going seven days a week if I could.
- I have run four half-marathons in my life and in 2025, I plan to run a full-marathon. For those that don’t know, I absolutely love to run.
- I love writing these newsletters and I never checked the numbers so I couldn’t believe the numbers when I saw that several hundreds of people read them weekly.
- I don’t play any sport but somehow, I’m a sport mom with three lovely daughters whose passion and gifts I love cheering for.
- I love to dance and I think I’m a good dancer 😅 but if you have seen me dance, and think otherwise, I will still believe it anyway.
- I love sharing inspiring contents in every way I can.
- I love having positive people around me because I think positivity is the best.
- My first stint at being an an entrepreneur was when I was 25 in 2011. So, I have been an entrepreneur for fourteen years now.
- I am an author who enjoys writing but I wear multiple hats that make it hard to hold my pen every time.
- The first day I jumped off a plane, I was so scared but I did it with my family anyway and I don’t regret it.
- I like snacking. I’m a snacker.
- I like gisting with people I love.
- I love affirmations. In fact I have one for every day of the week. I am a big confessor of scripture and I’m always affirming myself.
- I am a writer who only gets to read less and less as I grow busier and busier.
- I have thinking times and I enjoy my thinking time.
- I don’t really like social media but I know it’s necessary so I stay there anyway.
- I like me and I like you ❤️
As I round off this list, I wish I could just settle down and tell you every single thing I’m grateful for, but even now I’m getting teary in the middle of this, because there is so much to be thankful for.
Above it all, I see the hand of God in my life. The grace of God. I’m just one girl from a very humble background. I wasn’t born with any silver spoon. In fact there was no silver spoon in my house when I was born. People say I’m a shining light and I know it’s only because of the light of God in me and I want to shine it more to lead them to him and not me.
As I celebrate this landmark age, I want you to be thankful for me and thankful with me.
I also want you to do something in celebration of my 40th - no matter what you do, live your best life everyday and make sure you live for God, serve Him with all your heart and all of you.
I love you all my readers so dearly for reading every week and I celebrate you every day.
Although I may not look it or feel it, I can only say 40 here I come to my upcoming birthday on 17th of February 2025!
Your girl,
Olamidotun.

Recommendations
Today, I am recommending an app that helps me read more books, more often. It's called Audible, and it helps me read books more often because I can plug in at any time. I hope someone also finds this useful.
For even more positive content, as opposed to podcast episodes, I am releasing short nuggets on YouTube. You can find and watch some here - https://youtube.com/@olamidotunvo
It's amazing that I did this video just after I returned from my 40th birthday shoot, but if you want to see me without a wig and hear my truth, watch this!
