Hello ,
It’s winter where I am and to me, winter means cold and a lot of time spent in hibernation - indoors and in solitude because it’s cold. There are rarely any events in winter.
A lot of people don’t like winter where I am but I’ve found that it has become one of my favourite seasons over the years.
Lol 😅😂 … don’t get me wrong.
It’s not one of my favourite seasons because it’s cold but because I get to hibernate and be productive.
Hibernation and increased productivity means I get time to do more of what I would have procrastinated on. It means I have no events to distract me from getting things done.
There are still days I wish the winter cold can just go away but I’ve trained my brain that in winter, I get down and do the things I need to do.
A flip side to this is also the fact that winter might also be the time where doing some things might be more difficult. Example, a goal to work out more is not so easy when driving to the gym at early hours or evenings when it’s snowing.
Regardless, I believe winter is the best season to train your mind to be consistent and show up no matter what.
For you reading this, your season might be different. It may be rainy or sunny where you are.
No matter the season you find yourself, make up your mind to embrace the season. Understand the season and do what is best for you in this season for your life.
If you’re in winter, don’t look at your friends in summer and wish you had their lives. Different seasons in our lives calls for different perspectives.
If you find yourself in winter, maybe it’s time to hibernate, pull out your goals and work towards them.
If you find yourself in summer, maybe it’s time to network and meet with people that can prepare you for your winter season.
Regardless of the season you find yourself, embrace it.
You might be in a season where you’re raising a young baby, embrace it and be present in that season.
You might be in a season where you are building your career and you need to go back and retrain, embrace it.
You might be in a season where you have to be present and available for your children, guess what, they grow very fast, embrace it.
Never wish away a season.
Life is short and seasons will pass. Before you know it, your winter will turn to summer.
I am one person who has learnt and keeps learning every day to embrace every season I’m in and be thankful for it.
If it doesn’t rain, how do I get to harvest. If I don’t have winter, how do I prepare for the summer.
As we are in the early parts of the year with many goals we want to achieve, my challenge for you this week is to embrace and understand your season.
As you accept and work on this challenge, I just want to share a great quote that can help you - “Farmers who wait for perfect weather never plant. If they watch every cloud, they never harvest.”
Go out this week and embrace your season.
Shine, smile, be all you were called to be.
Have an amazing and fulfilling week. God bless you.
