MY PERSONAL JOURNEY

Have you ever had a day where you felt like everything had gone wrong?

Rest assured it happens to all of us, and it is something that we all need to deal with

in our own way.

I will not deny it....I have had someshockers, but at the end of the day, I know that the ownership of the problem is not yours. A 'bad' class is not the result of your teaching, it is the result of a cumulation of events and experiences that the class have had.

It may be that boundaries have not been clearly set and enforced by the classroom teacher, You may be working in an area where there is inconsistency of parenting.

Again, boundaries may not be set and enforced at home, and so the children run riot over anyone who is in a position of authority.

The key to working with these students is CONSISITENCY, CALMNESS and KINDNESS

This 'mantra' has been the core the basis of my reflection tool, and one that has held me

in good stead over my 40 years of teaching. My reflection journal, has helped me to get

through some of the toughest of days, and to make me a better teacher,
