Learn: Failure Premortem, Chrome Extension, āBlue Rateā

Hola from Buenos Aires,
Hereās something that took me too long to learn.
You get what you inspect.
Not what you expect.
So here are 3 ways to inspect, what you expect.
ā Failure Premortem
Good minds think forward.
Great minds think forward and backward. They can flip a gear and drive their brains in reverse.
One way to do this is with a premortem analysis ā imagining future events happening and analyzing why.
Hereās howā¦
Imagine itās June 2023 and youāre six months into your new project. Buttt bad newsā¦ your big project failed. :(
Good news, you can probably predict WHY before it happens. Use these simple steps for a premortem:
- Picture the future
- Imagine your plan failed
- Try to explain why and where it went wrong
Check out Performing a Project Premortem for more deets.
āļø Chrome Extension
Iāve searched everywhere for the PERFECT chrome browser extension.
It doesnāt exist... So I made my own.
I first created a Notion page of how I wanted it to look.
Then I used New Tab Redirect (free extension) to link new browser tabs to my āClean Tabsā Notion page.
Goodbye a million tabs. Hello āClean Tabsā and organization.
Feel free to copy this for yourself using this Notion Template and New Tab Redirect.

Inflation in Argentina is out of control.
Just three years ago, $1 USD = $59 ARS.
Today $1 USD = $172 ARS.
And thatās just the official rate (ex: gov and currency exchanges).
Thereās another market here called the āblue rate.ā
And we love the blue rate.
You can wire yourself money (ex: via Western Union) and tap into the blue rate. I did this last week and was able to exchange $1 USD = $333 ARS. Almost exactly 2x the official rate. š¤Æ
Above is $600 USD converted into $199,800 in mĢ¶oĢ¶nĢ¶oĢ¶pĢ¶oĢ¶lĢ¶yĢ¶ Ģ¶mĢ¶oĢ¶nĢ¶eĢ¶yĢ¶ ARS.
At the āOffical Rateā $600 USD = $103,464 ARS.
But the āBlue Rateā $600 USD = $199,800.
Iām all for āgoing with the flowā when traveling to new countries. But sometimes it pays (literally) to do some research.
Due to rapid inflation, most Argentines choose to hold USD and not ARS in their bank accounts.
Regardless of the asset (house, USD, crypto, etc) we often expect the value to go upā¦ but upon further inspection thatās not always the case.
Year-end is a great time to double-check life and asset allocations. #teamindexfunds
