First, how to get into the ritual:

Because our time together is brief (45 minutes) and I have some great activities planned for us, please arrive early. (At least 2 minutes early should be fine.) I’ve planned for things to move quickly, punctuated with short bursts of writing.
If I have set things up correctly (thank you so much for coming to our first ritual and being a part of getting New Moon Mondays off the ground and flying!) the passcode will let you into a waiting room. At the top of the hour, I will let everyone in from the waiting room and we will begin immediately.
Since I will be conducting the ritual, I will let latecomers in, but if I don’t see you immediately, don’t worry. I will be periodically checking to see if I need to let you in.
New Moon Monday will be recorded and the recording will be shared in public.
Please remain muted during the ritual. At the end of the ritual, I will turn off the recording and you are free then to share any feedback or conversation with the group if you choose.
If there are any identifying images or words on the screen during ritual, I will edit those out before posting the recording, to protect the privacy of ritual participants.
The slides will also be available, along with the group poems we will be creating, using software called Padlet, that lets you add your words to select slides. These poems will be locked before the Padlet is shared, so no one can change, add or remove words to our creations after the ritual.
Expect a combination of gentle astrology teaching - the kind of learning that will allow you to learn astrology (if you aren’t already familiar) through a sort of osmosis. The more you attend New Moon Mondays, the more astrology you will understand — not just as a topic of instruction, but as something integrated into your personal understanding of the archetypes as you use them to write into the energies and ideas that are stimulated in you by the symbols, their explanation, and the magic that is real-time group creativity.
You will come away with a deeper understanding of Aries, Eclipse energy, and the astrological “planet” Chiron (Astrology calls all the heavenly bodies “planets”, even the luminaries (Sun and Moon), Dwarf Planets (like Pluto), Asteroids, etc.) Chiron is called the “wounded healer” and the “rainbow bridge” between the inner planets and the outer planets. We will approach Chiron’s powerful energy through an exercise in word alchemy.
Bring a way to write things down personally — a notebook, laptop, etc — and be ready to type collaborative thoughts in a web form for the group activities. At the end of the ritual, we will write in our personal spaces, creating our own intentions for how we will use the energies of this New Moon in our own lives.
