The Best Teacher Appreciation Gift Wasn’t a Mug

May 12, 2026 11:01 am

Teacher Appreciation Week is officially over… and everything is back to normal.

I don’t know about you, but I am completely exhausted.

I have a couple of new mugs, a few sweet notes I’ll keep forever, and about 37 tabs open in my brain at all times.

Today in class, something happened that reminded me why we do this job.

You know that student?

The one who has pushed every button all year long?

The one who refuses to work, argues about everything, and somehow drains your energy before first period is even over?

(I think we all have at least one.)

Today we were doing review work, and strangely enough… he was actually working. Quietly. No disruption. No argument.

At one point he looked up and caught my eye, and I swear — that tiny moment was the best Teacher Appreciation gift I could have received.

It reminded me why I teach.

Why we keep showing up every day and giving everything we have, even when we’re tired.

Now… let’s be honest. That magical moment lasted approximately 1.5 seconds!

Because the reality is: the kids are tired. We’re tired. Everyone is restless, distracted, and counting down the days.

Keeping students engaged right now is HARD.

That’s exactly why I wanted to share this with you today.

My 6th Grade Spiral Review Escape Room Bundle has honestly been a lifesaver during this time of year.

Right now it includes 9 weeks of spiral review, and I’ll be adding Week 10 by the end of this week. When complete, the bundle will include 36 weeks total (a value of about $108).

I use it:

  • during the year for spiral review
  • at the end of the year for mixed review
  • for summer review
  • and even at the beginning of 7th grade as a refresher for incoming students

Sometimes I assign one full “week” in a single class period — students complete 25 mixed-review problems plus the mini escape room activities, and they genuinely stay engaged because of the game-style format.

And honestly? At this point in the year, engaged students feel like a small miracle.

So through Friday, I’m offering the bundle for just $18 before the price increases again.

Hang in there. We’re almost at the finish line 💛
