Can’t Miss Reads

Stuff I Love - Chocolate

Hey Insiders,

With winter around the corner comes the reality that I will see my friends less in order for us to keep each other safe. My bubble has been small since the pandemic started, but now I anticipate added isolation.

Most of you know that I am on the board of directors for the local Mental Health America chapter. We are focused on supporting people through these trying times, offering education, and more. One thing we have stressed this year: don't be afraid to reach out for help – from family, from friends, or professionals.

Also, there couldn't be a better time to escape with a new romance read!

I am doubly lucky when it comes to escaping with a romance novel. I can both write and read love stories. I have been busy this week doing both.

Cassie has met her new man and fallen hard. Yep, Dare to Act is coming along nicely, and I am on track to finish a novel during National Novel Writing Month. I like him too. He is an actor, handsome as sin, and finally hitting his stride with plum roles in theater and movies. How will a successful man like this make room in his life for a New Jersey soccer mom with a failing business? How will he not when he's drawn to Cassie as soon as he looks into her big blue eyes? I'm writing their meet-cute now and having a great time doing so.

When I put the computer down, I happily pick up Crowne of Lies by CD Reiss, precisely the sexy romp I need at the end of a busy day. If you haven't discovered this New York Times Bestselling author, the Shakespeare of Smut, this is a great book and series to get you started.

Goodreads has dozens of Romance Giveaways from authors such as Sarina Bowen, Jill Shavis, and Lauren Blakely. Enter here.

Or, if you are a KU reader, Give me SPICE with Kindle Unlimited offers more than fifty sexy romps available on KU through November 30th.

Looking for a new author or romance? Here are four to look into this month:

imageimageimageimage

My Second Chance Player by Elyse Rigg

A standalone romantic comedy with no cheating, no cliffhanger, and lots of HEA.

It’s sexy football hero vs. girl who got away in this standalone small-town romantic comedy featuring a booty call on a pirate parade float, a bad monkey named Shark, and lots of chips and salsa at the Beaky Tiki.

The Forgotten Ones by Crystal Dawn

A paranormal romance with a happy ending.

She meets Blake, a handsome enigmatic man hiding a big secret. That’s alright, because she has some secrets of her own she has no intention of sharing. The problems start when the secrets begin to come out and their lives become hopelessly entangled.

Lingerie on the Floor by Amanda Aksel

A Bad Boy Billionaire Romance (The Londonaire Brothers Stand-Alone Series)

Lingerie on the Floor is a sexy billionaire contemporary romance. If you like bad boys seducing good girls, passions running wild, and chemistry hot enough to melt your device, then you’ll love this deliciously fashionable ride.

Forever Feral  by Laura M. Baird

Shifter Clans Book 4

When invited to spend Christmas in Arizona with their friends they now consider family, Irena and Roberto don’t hesitate. The Arctic fox shifter and mountain lion shifter are right at home among the others—hawk shifters Mason and Brennon, wolf shifter Max, and their mates, Charity, Mikki, and Caterina. Not to mention the precocious and delightful Leah, Charity’s niece.

The holiday brings welcomed surprises such as proposals, babies, and snow in the desert. Brought together under dire circumstances and bonded by kinship, these shifters and their mates discover a love that will forever be feral and everlasting.

I love it when I start looking forward to the new year and fresh starts. Nevermore than this year! Putting 2020 behind me will be a relief.

The first step I make to move ahead is to order my planner for the next year (I suggest someone gift it to me for Hanukah). Usually, I go with a Day Designer, but this year I am struggling to decide between these three - all of which I adore. What's your choice?

imageDay Designer: My go-to planner for several years, this annual planner has room for tracking my schedule, my top three goals each day, todos, and dinner plans. There is room for notes, a monthly calendar, and a tab to keep my place. Their system helps you align your daily goals with your big dreams, too. It keeps me on track, and it and my computer are all I need for a portable office.

  • imageErin Condren: ·       I discovered this complete and colorful system this year, and it is comprehensive. Also, they have Hello Kitty covers! This coiled LifePlanner coordinates weekly and daily goals and todos and claims to be proven to increase time management and productivity. I struggle a bit with the freedom to create task categories, needing structure to accomplish anything, but if you like to set their course, this may be the planner for you.

  • imageThyme is Honey: ·       If you like an undated planner, and to support the earth, this is the choice for you. I like the Daily Planner with Journal, where you can track todos, appointments, menus, and self-care activities with an entire page for notes, too. They have an electronic/digital version for MAC users also, but what caught my eye? They plant a tree with every purchase, print, and package, with recyclable paper, and produce in the US.

Stay safe, stay sane. Happy reading,
