Welcome to Autumn! This is my favorite season of the year – cool nights perfect for sleeping, trees wearing their finery in breathtaking shades of red, orange and yellow, and that back to school mindset hardwired into me. I always feels like I should start something new when autumn arrives and this year is no different.
Autumn means lots of new goings-on, so let’s dig in.
New Eyes: With this ‘start something new’ mindset, I have put aside Dare to Risk, so that I can rewrite it with fresh eyes later this month. Did you know that is my process? I write a first draft, reality check the overall concept with a few stalwart reader/editors and then put it aside for a month. Then I can read it with a fresh perspective and start serious edits and rewrites for severl iterations. So while Dare to Risk is “resting,” I am ready to tackle another book.
New Stories: Now that you have read Dare to Hope, is there anyone’s story you are particularly anxious to see next? I was thinking of Cassie, recovering from her husband’s death, but perhaps you would prefer to learn more about Harper and Danny and why they didn’t make it the first time around? Or is Melinda’s troubled marriage something you are dying to see resolved, one way or another? Don’t forget Bethany, trying to find her way on her new farm. Why did. she buy a farm anyway?
I am saving Rachel’s tale a bit later in the series, and Kyra will offer us our conclusion since she instigated the double dare. But there are other characters you have yet to meet, four other women who will be joining this dare ‘already in progress.’ I will share more about these women in future emails.
New Commitments: Meanwhile, unless you comment and convince me otherwise, I will work on Cassie’s story. November is National Novel Writing Month. I have committed to write at least 50,000 words of new book. That’s 5/6th of a novel for me, a lot to commit to in a single month. But I plan to succeed and complete the first draft of Cassie’s romance, Dare to Act or another “Dare.” Deep breath, dive in! Bedazzled Revisited: Bedazzled, my first novel and book one of the Beguiling Bachelor series. Is getting a makeover. Stay tuned for a completely rewritten version complete with a new cover. I plan to put it out for reviews when it is complete then offer a relaunch of the entire Bachelor series. The new version will be shorter and sexier. I hope you approve. I will need loads and tons of reviews for the relaunch so sign up here to be notified when the new edition of Bedazzled is available.
