Time to Plan Ahead

Last week I attended my 50^th high school reunion. Turns out, after agonizing about whether to go I am so glad I did. My class was huge, over 1000 people. Even with only a few hundred in attendance it was exciting to see people I haven’t seen in ages.

And, of course, I have pages and pages of story ideas from a single reunion weekend!

Speaking of story ideas…

I have finally progressed beyond Avery and Willow’s stories. Both are done, edited and proofread, and I am on to two new books. One fun fact: my next two stories are set on the east coast, not in Chicago. I have been having a blast researching preschools in Manhattan!

The marvelous thing about writing a series is that you move on from characters who are friends but you don’t leave them behind. Avery, Willow, Gabby and Sofia weave in and out of the new novels, sharing Gabby’s audacious dare, meddling without shame and providing a shoulder to cry on, when one is needed.

My plan remains to release at least four of the books in early 2023, with apologies for those who have been waiting all this time, but that way you can dive into the series without big breaks between books. I have finally brought in a few experts to help me with the launch schedule.

I had a lot of fun writing my post for the blog this week, about inspiration for my novels. People ask where I get my ideas all the time, so I am opening the vest and sharing (a little).

I guess if people are already planning for Thanksgiving and eating Halloween candy (at least I am) I can talk planners. Seems too early doesn’t it?
