Why Did I Relaunch?

Broken Time Gets a New Look

Happening Now—New Promos start today

Stuff I Love—Compelling TV

Hey

I am amazed that I have time to write this week. I am completely caught up in TV - both the news and the shows I have found to escape reality. But more on that in a minute.

I am getting many concerned fans asking me why I did a relaunch of my Beguiling Bachelor series, so I thought I would address their concerns here.

First, let me reassure those of you who invested in the books, and thank you for believing in me and supporting me from the beginning.

Now, on to the whys. There are many reasons authors decide to relaunch. Trust me, none of them are taken lightly, as a relaunch is often very costly. I know mine will be expensive. I address many of these reasons in my blog post: "The 5 W's of a Successful Book Relaunch."

But I don't really tackle the one that drove my decision: pandemic brain. Yep. Sure I will benefit from rebranding, new cover art, professionally edited chapters. Sure writers improve over time so their later books are more professional than their earlier woks. Hell's bells, even Stephen King has relaunched some of his work.

But what drove me was an inability to work on anything new. Not exactly writers block, more like where to fit what I was writing into what was happening in the world. Stuck inside, unable to kiss or hug family, it was hard to consider romance. Who felt romantic, for starters? Do i write a covid friendly romance or pretend covid doesn't exist?

To be honest, I couldn't decide. I was paralyzed. But I had a solution. I would revisit my existing books and learn from my past efforts. I was introduced to Nicole from Emerald Edits in the midst of this reevaluation, and the relaunch was born.

Nicole wasn't looking to rewrite my stories, or change my voice. She was simply their to polish things up, like buffing a pair of dusty shoes. But it was the impetus I needed to get writing again, and I enjoyed and learned from the process.

Win win I think. Do you agree?

So much happening!

This month I will publish the relaunch of Beholden and hopefully Bedeviled as well! And in the relaunch spirit, Kelly helped me design a new cover for Broken Time, my time travel romance set in Chicago's famous Green Mill Jazz Club. Here's is the reveal. I'd love to know what you think.

As for book promotions, I have a few of those to share as well.

Through March 30th, explore Alphantastic March! Enjoy choosing from this cross section of free romances.

And don't miss Marching Your Way to love also running through the end of March.

My DVR is filling up quickly with enough romance to make your head spin. And so much more romantic TV is coming this month.

First, Hallmark started their new season of When Calls the Heart. Sure, Elizabeth has chosen her man, but I am sure more cliffhangers lay ahead, and in the meantime, Chris McNally is so easy on the eyes.

Want something set even further back? Sanditon Season 2 starts on PBS, catch up on Season 1 of this unfinished Jane Austen tale this week so you will be prepared. And later this month watch for the continuation of Bridgerton. New lovers, new story, same characters. Alas, no Rene ..... So sad.

And if you like a taste of old and new, The Courtship on NBC promises to be the best of the Bachelor franchises. Modern men compete for a modern woman in old-fashioned ways.

As if that isn't enough, I recently discovered Paris in Love. If you are into Billionaire Romance and excess, read my blog, and don't miss the saga of Paris Hilton's engagement and wedding. Can you say "over the top?" I swear, it's impossible to turn away from this stuff. Truth stranger than fiction? Peacock is the place!

What are you watching right now?

Until then, happy reading,

P.S. Yes I am still asking for reviews! Please take five minutes right this minute to leave your honest review of Bedazzled, or any of the Beguiling Bachelor novels. I cannot stress how important these Amazon reviews are as I launch the entire series. Thank you!
