Bingeing is my nemesis
Hey ,
Did you happen to notice that today is Wednesday, not Tuesday when I would normally email you? If you did, humble apologies. If you didn't, whew!
The truth is that TV caught me and held me enthralled again this week and things kind of slipped. Okay, they slipped, no kind of about it.
Unprofessional? Perhaps. So why admit it? Because I was lost in the world of Jane Austen, undoubtedly the home of smart romance, so I am calling it research and that's that. More about Ms. Austen and smart romance below.
I had a fabulous time working on my new story for the Dark and Filthy Rich Billionaire anthology I am participating in later this year. More about the anthology in a few months, but I am happily creating a younger sister for Melanie so that I can include the Crazy Eights in this novel.
Readers always ask me about my characters after their story ends, and the best way to satisfy that curiosity is to revisit them in future books. I don't have to let them go too soon either, which is a bonus.
Meanwhile, I am writing a story of long distance romance, unsatisfied longing, and art. Fletcher Donovan is a billionaire art collector, Melanie's younger sister Leah is an art student. These two share a passion for art and for one another, but sadly Fletcher is accompanying his family collection on a European art tour, leaving a lonely Leah to care for his fabulous townhouse. The more the man seems out of reach, the more Leah desires him. Stay tuned to learn more when the anthology becomes available this winter.
I promise to share more about the anthology, as I get details.
In the meantime, watch for Crazy to Dream next month and get to know all the crazies a little better. I think the hero, or is he the villain?, Ethan is one of the sexiest characters I have created. I can't wait to hear what you think.
Only a few more days!

Helen Henderson, fantasy and fantasy romance author, joins me on the blog this week to share the news of her new novel "Fire and Amulet" as well as its inspiration. I know you will find Helen fascinating, and if you like fantasy even a little, this book looks like a winner! https://www.madisonmichael.net/fire-and-amulet-by-helen-henderson/
So...I mentioned that I was lost in Austen this week. Technically that is both true and untrue. Jane Austen's last novel, Sanditon, was incomplete at her death. In fact, other than the set up and introduction to the major characters, she left little to know of the story.
Enter the geniuses at Masterpiece Theater who hired brilliant writers, actors, set and costume designers and created a series based on Ms. Austen's unfinished work. They are airing the final season now (prior seasons may be purchased on www.PBS.org or on Amazon) and as a proud subscriber, I was able to binge the entire season. That's exactly what I did.
You know that I am committed to writing and promoting smart romances. Jane Austen's works, as well as this effort by Masterpiece Theater, certainly fits the bill. And just between us, I can't remember a more satisfying ending.
Happy reading,
P.S. Thanks again for helping me launch Crazy to Believe. Please take a minute to leave an honest review on Goodreads, Bookbub or Amazon.
