One month to go...

Hey Fellow Writer,

Welcome to March! Two months over already. The first of each month I tend to take stock and see how I am doing against my strategy for the year, for the quarter, for the month.

I am thrilled to say that my book re-releases are right on schedule, but my social media strategy, the one I hoped to create in January, still doesn’t exist. My blog post planning has been skeletal at best and my new series is a bit behind schedule.

How are you doing against your plans? I would love to know your planning processes, systems and tricks, what works and what doesn’t.

As bad as my quarter sounds like it is shaping up, I am doing one thousand times better than last year. Honestly. My systems and secrets? First a planner that does a lot of the work for me. This year that is my Living Well planner in combination with Brit Poe’s Thriving Scribe Planner. The first I use daily to determine my top priorities for that day and how I will spend my time. Each month I look at my quarterly plans in my Thriving Scribe calendar and build my month plan on my Living Well calendar. That way I start with the year, break it down to quarters, then months, then weeks, then days. It sounds like a lot of work, but really it takes a few hours planning up front and then a minute or two of each day. And it works better than anything I have tried before.

I am excited to say that I am being interviewed this week by Evan Gow, founder of Story Origin. He is building a video series for new authors on how to best use Story Origin to launch their author careers and also to provide encouragement and mentoring. What better use of my time?

Are you a Story Origin user or Bookfunnel and why? I am still using both but considering dropping Bookfunnel when it comes up for renewal. Still on the fence though. What are your thoughts?
