.
Hi ,
Recently I really got my inner state riled up!
Does this happen to you?
Yes, we are in charge of our own inner state of being.
Yes, its hard to not assign the upsets to our inner peace to others -
actually assessing cause to an external factor is much easier:).
But that is not the truth.
We are each in charge of our own inner peace.
And just yesterday I noticed I'd caused myself some inner peace grief!
It was the expectation of what I thought was going to happen -
and it did not match the reality!
Oohh I was wilfully persistent in my expectation and that just caused more upset inside me - all of my own creation - my expectation.
It was my mom that reminded me (as she had more experience in this particular area) that she'd told me before it was likely to NOT work out the way I expected. And in fact in reality it didn't work out:(.
Big laugh here - omg - wilful or what - such a staunchly held expectation that did nothing but cause me grief! Even to the point of not hearing information that was contrary to my created expectation.
So I invite you to reflect on your inner peace grief (ie when you lose your inner peace).
Perhaps your expectations were the cause - yes you may feel justified - and the facts remain the situation didn't work out the way YOU wanted.
Let's work with the world the way it is - when you can be more accepting of reality as it is, it is much more peaceful.
Back to being in the moment.
And releasing our expectations.
Did you realise that watching for our expectations to be fulfilled (or not) actually takes away from our ability to be present in the moment and certainly frames what we notice - rather powerful eh?:).
That doesn't mean you put up with harmful behaviour - we all need boundaries and to know what is ok and not ok for us, and then communicate this.
There are lots of circumstance that we dont agree with and we dont need to lose our inner peace but recognise there are many different people with a vast array of the ways they 'are'.
Much of the ups and downs of a day can be relative to expectations big or small - check it out the next time you lose your inner peace.
Maybe it was an expectation of your own ( that you created ) that was not met.
And if you dont have expectations?
Enjoy the moment, experience the moment.
- observe, learn from the circumstance and choose differently next time if it wasn't supporting your inner peace!
The more time you can spend with your inner peace intact, the more your brain practises and strengthens these neural pathways - the easier it gets.
Come and practice with me Somatic Stretch® to strengthen your inner peace - in both mind and body.
Plus move with more ease.
Plus be more relaxed and perhaps even a better version of you:)
Classes are every Tuesday and Thursday at 4:30 PDT/7:30 EDT.
May peace be with you and I hope to see you at Somatic Stretch - come give it a try!
